In recent years, with the global economic downturn, tablet PCs, smart-phones andother mobile internet products are developing rapidly, also big player in the IT fieldsheaded by Microsoft also can’t launch new landmark innovation product like theWindows XP operating system. These factors make the traditional PC industry isexperiencing unprecedented impact. PC market demand shrinking severely, resultingin CPU demand continues to slump, CPU manufacturers are facing severe tests.M is a supply chain management company which the main customers are fromthe personal computer industry. Due to the negative impact of the externalenvironment, customers brought directly to the company unfavorable situation, suchas orders reduced, cost pass-through. Pressure from customers push the company hadto find a quickly way to get through temporary difficulties. As Lean Six Sigmamanagement philosophy has a very big advantage in the rapid elimination of waste,reduce variation and quantify the improvement in outcome. Through the introductionof this management, the company excavating within the company room forimprovement, expecting to continue to bring cost savings, while maximizingprofitable to meet customer needs, enhance customer satisfaction.In this paper, AMD, the biggest customer of M company which greatest impactthe company at this stage is the main study object. In view of the automationimprovement projects which M company carry out for AMD’s CPU packagingproduction line, with the concept of lean six sigma management DMAIC method asthe main line, through brainstorming, fishbone diagrams and other tools for analysis,to identify the impact of production efficiency reasons from the aspect of human,machine, method. And applied to improve human resource management, informationsystems strengthening stability, strengthening supplier management, automatedmachinery imported and other countermeasures targeted implementation, and finallyto assess the effects of post-implementation.There is a certain reference value on how to improve production efficiency andreduce the cost of production with regard to similar packaging companies fromresearch of these strategies.
