As Chinese service industry's explosive growth, the boundary spanner roles become more and more important to the enterprise. Researchers pointed out that role ambiguity and job insecurity has become a problem for most people's work. This is more obvious for the boundary spanner roles. So, we will explore the relationship between the role ambiguity for job insecurity based on the boundary spanner roles and give some suggestions for enterprise and the boundary spanner roles.According to this thought, this paper first reviews the theory and recent domestic and foreign research about role ambiguity, ambiguity tolerance and job insecurity. Based on it, we sorted out the relat ionship between variables and analyzed the key point of this paper. Then, combined with the second chapter, we determined the model dimension and put forward relevant hypothesis. We designed the role ambiguity, ambiguity tolerance and job insecurity questionnaires of the boundary spanner roles according to the previous questionnaires. The questionnaires mainly issued to the boundary spanner roles in enterprises of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, including sales staff, customer service personnel, technical personnel, management consulting and so on. We verified the hypothesis and drew the relevant conclusions through the SPSS mathematical statistics. The internal and external role ambiguity of the boundary roles in different gender, age, education, and seniority exist significant differences. Secondly, there is a significant positive correlat ion between the internal and external role ambiguity and job insecurity of boundary roles. Besides, the internal role ambiguity has a signif icantly greater impact on the job insecurity than the external role ambiguity. Thirdly, ambiguity tolerance has a moderating effect on the internal and external role ambiguity and the job insecurity of boundary roles. Finally, the paper provides some suggestions to enterprises and employees from two perspectives. The study is beneficial to the enterprises and employees. They can clarify their role positioning and reduce internal and external role ambiguity and will also provide some recommends for the practice of enterprise management.
