Study On The Benefits Of Utilizing FDI In Agriculture Of Guangdong Province

As be more aware of that the shortage of the argricultural investment is one of the most important factors in limitating agricultural development,the government turn to encourage, guideand standardize foreign direct investment to invest the agricultural in order to attract a diversity of investors.Accordingly,It will be of momento-us current significance in the benefit studieson utilization of government's foreign dir-ect argicultural investment with the backgro-und of FDI still maintains an upward momentum.On the theoretical analysis basic of FDI,the thesis will employ qualitative and quantitative methods to explore the present conditions,economic benefits and tech-nical progress benefits of utilizing FDI in Guangdong agriculture.With the significant analysis results, the thesis will give some suggestions in order to utilize FDI more efficiently in Guangdong agricultural.(1)Through using descriptive statistics to analysis the status and variety of agricultural FDI investment scale,the regional and industrial distribution,investment modean d original countries in Guangdong.On the one hand,utilizing FDI in Guangdong agriculture has been maintained an upward momentum,and FDI'sinvestment field has beengradually widened.Different urbans attract different foreign direct argicultural investm-ent in Guangdong. A representation of Zhaoqing and Yangjiang has attracted moreFDI in argiculture. On the other hand, agric-ultural development level in Guangdongprovince is worlds apart from industry and service industry. In particular, The FDI which is from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan would rather invest agriculture with exclusively foreign-owned enterprises in China. In addition,foreign direct argicultural investment in Guangdong is primarily focused on processing fields of agricultural pro-ducts,it will not to be the advantage of strategic goal which Guangdong agriculture utilizes FDI.(2)Based on concordant analysis and a model of error modification,the thesis empirical studyed the economic benefit and technical progress benefit of foreign direct investment with time-series data of foreign direct argicultural investment, agricultural economic growth,export of agricultural products and rural employment. The results suggest that FDI in domestic investments has crowding-out effects,but generally FDI can promote Guangdong agricultural economics;In long run and short run,FDI can promote agricultural exports;FDI in rural employment has crowding-out effects through the direct and indirect effects.(3)This chapter will computate total factor productivity with “Solow?s Residual Value Law”.The results suggest that FDI can improve agricultural technology progressive level in Guangdong Province directly with the background of FDI still maintains an upward momentum,but FDI can not indirectly further agricultural technology progressive level with technological spillover effect.(4)On the basis of empirical analysis results,the thesis gave some suggestions in order to utilize FDI more efficiently in Guangdong agricultural,such as increasing the amount area of agricultural FDI,strengthening to guide FDI and improving agricultural technology progressive level in Guangdong Province.
