Total Factor Productivity (TFP) functions as an important measurement on national economic growth. Based on fundamental demand on agriculture development in Chengdu and the increasing attention on TFP, this article aims improve the agriculture development within Chengdu by the calculation on TFP. In that case, the TFP comparison among cities provides great opportunity for mutual learning and specific improvement on TFP indicators. Also, this comparison could do help both on the weakest link among industries and the whole performance of TFP, which would provide great guidance on the agriculture practices. This study chooses agriculture data from Chengdu, Wuhan, Changsha and Fuzhou from year 2002 to 2013. DEM-Malmquist Measurement has been applied by DEAP2.1, which aims to calculate the TFP in Chengdu City and its neighboring counties. According to the result, we could draw the conclusion that the major TFP increase of Chengdu comes from technology efficiency improvement. As for the still lagged TFP compared with other cities, comparatively lack of TFP efficiency would be the major cause. In the regional distribution perspective, the first circle should take great consideration on SECH improvement while the third circle should target on pure technology efficiency improvement.Besides, based on the previous analysis, the construction of panel data, with the help of STATA 13.0, we introduce the dummy variables into the model for intercity comparison. The result shows that, comparing with other cities, the negative impact of agriculture machinery gross would be more prominent to TFP and agriculture technology efficiency in Chengdu. It also prominent on the positive impact on system; Also, human capital impact on TFP in Chengdu is a bit lower that other cities, or even have negative impact on TPF in the perspective of agriculture technology efficiency. Last but not least, urbanization has negative impact TPF and agriculture technology efficiency. According to industrial structure, the spread of food plantation would increase agriculture technology efficiency and TFP.Therefore, based on the whole above empirical analysis and comparative analysis, we emphasis on the unified planning across each districts in Chengdu; the improvement of mechanization on agriculture; the financial support from government and the broaden on government expenditure; also the investment, cultivation, guidance and repay should all be taken great consideration, ect.
