A Factor Analysis On Farmers’ Life Satisfaction In Chengdu Municipality Centralized Living Areas

In our country, there are large rural populations, and scarcity of resources. These are our basic national conditions. The root causes of the issues of agriculture, farmer and rural area is the institutional contradictions which are composed of the scarcity of resources and urban and rural social and economic structure. The fundamental way to solve the "the issues of agriculture, farmer and rural area" is the "Co-ordination urban and rural". The scope of this study is the Chengdu City which has been approved as the first urban and rural comprehensive reform test zone and meanwhile the whole city (contains all the district/county) also been gave the right to try to make decisions by priority. Chengdu has been gone in the forefront of the western with guiding farmers to live together in cities and towns. What are the living satisfactions to the farmers who have enjoyed the coverage of government policies? What factors will influence the farmers’living satisfactions in the concentrated residential areas?In the point view of Amartya·Sen Feasible Capacity, this research conducted field research, and combed the history and current situation of farmers’concentrated residential in Chengdu City. Then, the author built models to analyze the factors of farmers’life satisfaction in Chengdu City centralized living areas. Finally, some conclusions and suggestions are put forward to promote the integration objectives of the Urban and Rural in Chengdu City.Based by the254farmers in concentrated residential areas, the author assumed some as following: firstly, the policies of Centralizing people to house are promoting Functional Activities, like "Family economy","living standards" and "social security","community living environment" and "development of space", then it is guaranteed the farmers’ Feasible ability in the concentrated residential areas. Secondly, after concentrated residential, farmers’lifestyles have been changed dramatically which are in favor of the urban lifestyles. Thirdly, there are so many factors have affected the attitude of people. And their lives are tending to urbanization. People, who have different ages, years of education, will hold a different attitude of their lives. Farmers, who are healthy or high court of Engel’s coefficient, have a good evaluation to their life. The environment of the new community has an impact on the attitude of the farmers. Compared with the former concentrated residential, the improvement of air quality and the traffic conditions, strengthening of the security situation and the medical degree and reduction of noise pollution have crucial factors to farmers’life satisfaction. At lastly, this article gives some suggestion to improve the farmers’life satisfaction. For example, the government should overall planning of the construction of residential areas, improve the management and service of the community and strengthen the soft environment construction in the community.
