With the long-term downturn of the global economic situation and the international trade situation continues to deteriorate in recent years,rising labor costs,financing difficulties,environmental pollution,low-cost competition,land shortages and other problems become more serious,the transformation and upgrading of Shiling(Huadu District,Guangzhou)leather enterprises is also facing increasing pressure,its upgrade path to achieve the target mode is a typical case of transformation and upgrading of China's large number of "labor-intensive" business in the view of the global value chain.This article take the global value chain analysis,the governance mode of value chain and brand strategy as basis economy theory for the research,analysis the development situation of Shiling leather enterprises,the division status in the global value chain,the global economic downturn and shrinking international market demand and other challenges factors.With a questionnaire survey of hundreds of Shiling leather enterprises,the article summed up the general problems and bottlenecks for developing,labor shortage and rising labor costs,technological innovation and standardized management is not strong,market development and brand-building capability is not strong,shortage and expensive financing,shortage of land resources and so on.On the whole,the best way of Shiling leather enterprises to upgrade is to extend the industrial chain and promote the trade model from OEM to ODM,OBM,and focus on enhancing bags product design and development capabilities and brand marketing capabilities.Specifically,the article proposes to increase the targeted product design and development efforts,and actively promote regional brand influence and visibility,implement the brand strategy,increase the financial support,accelerate the development of electronic commerce,strengthen policy support and support system.The article also focuses on the implementation of brand strategy and cited a typical case of a successful implementation of brand strategy,provide a useful reference for the Shiling leather enterprises.
