The west plateau regions of China are located in boundary of Eurasian plate and Indian plate with complex geological structures,which leads to strenuous crustal movement and frequent earthquake activity.In recent years,earthquakes here have caused a great deal damages to the infrastructures,lives and properties in urban and countryside in the regions,and influenced the social sustainable development.The construction of earthquake emergency response system provides a quick,efficient platform for government decision-making department to decide disaster prediction and emergency response scientifically.Earthquake emergency response database is the basis for risk analysis and emergency response system.Based on the requirements of earthquake risk analysis and emergency response system construction for a practical research project,the approach and key techniques have been studied,and an emergency response database that marching the requirement of the project has been built.Firstly,the previous methods,technology and specifications for building a earthquake database have been summarized.Secondly,according to risk analysis and emergency response requirement,data such as basic geological information,regional geology,faults,roads and buildings,living facilities have been collected and processed.Moreover,a summary design of emergency response space database has done including data demand analysis,data agreement and data logical description.Finally,earthquake emergency response space data has been built using ArcGIS GDB approach.Space database includes spatial and attribute information for earthquake danger analysis and emergency response analysis,such as,geological map,administrative division,buildings,national economy statistics,enterprise economy statistics,geological map,tectonic activity classification,seismic zonation,earthquake movement,focal monitoring area,seismic network,disaster and rescue case,road traffic distribution,etc.The construction of the earthquake response database has integrated the spatial and attributes data in order to support earthquake risk analysis and emergency response decision-making.
