With the implementation of clean-energy strategy of China, the demand for natural gas resources, which is clean, efficient, environment friendly, is rapidly increased. In recent years, lots of long distance gas pipelines are laid to meet our energy needs. Gas transmission stations of pipeline are the core of a whole pipeline system. They don't only provides the power for natural gas in the pipeline, but also maintain safety, efficiency of the entire system. Gas transmission station has many important equipment, high risk factors, and complicated technologies, pipeline. So some scientific methods should been taken to maintain the security of the.The first part of the research is about the current situation of the domestic and foreign gas pipeline projects, especially about the risk assessment of gas stations, safety managements. Then, the research makes a detailed introduction about the surrounding environment, the main technological process, key equipment and safety management system of the Guiyang gas transmission station. A safety checklist analysis is utilized for the Guiyang station. The safety checklist divides the Guiyang gas transmission system into six subsystems, which are named as Pipeline, Equipment, Operation, Management, Accident disposal and Environment. Many safety questions are settled for each subsystem, and the safety checklist concluded the main risk problems.By using the safety checklist, On-site inspections, on-site answers from staff and access to information of pipeline and station, a qualitative risk assessment is done for Guiyang gas transmission station. The evaluation results show that more than 92% inspection items of Guiyang station meet the requirements of safety management, the overall risk level of that station is low. But there are a few safety risks, like some line sign is not clear, fire fighting equipment is not qualified and so on. And some concrete opinions for rectification are given.According to the safety evaluation results and safety management regulations of Guiyang station, the emergency management system is establish. First, the concept, content, and emergency management system are introduced. Then the Comprehensive emergency plans, the special emergency plan, and the on-site emergency plan are settled for Guiyang station. At last, according to the main risk type of gas transmission station, the regulation of emergency disposal, the emergency disposal of gas leak, the emergency disposal of fire explosion, the emergency disposal of power failure are instituted, and the ability of disposing emergency is improved.
