As we all know,China is one of countries in the globe that are polluted seriously by dust.Although the purification technology and production process of dust are increasingly improved,the pollution of atmospheric environment increases year by year,which has been a serious threat to human survival environment.Therefore,reducing air pollution and protecting the environment have very important significance.In recent years,wet dust removal equipments have been used widely in industrial production for their low energy consumption and wide application.Efficient wet scrubber of this paper is one of wet dust removal equipments,which has won the national invention patents and utility model patens.Mainly based on the impulse-type dust collector,the efficient wet scrubber is designed dependent on experience.As a result,it contains little hydrodynamic theory to study the fluid shape and dust removal mechanism inside the dust collector.On the basis of a large number of domestic and foreign literatures,this paper applies discrete phase model,VOF model of Eulerian multiphase flow model and FLUENT to go into the internal flow field of efficient wet scrubber.This paper explores the fluid properties and dust removal mechanism of efficient wet scrubber and simulates the changes of resistance,collection efficiency and internal flow field of dust collector under different imported wind speed.Comparing the simulation results with the experimental data,the optimum air volume can be easily found.At the same time,the on-site applied research of efficient wet scrubber is done based on the actual situation of a mine concentrator of Anhui.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Simulate the fluid properties and dust removal mechanism of efficient wet scrubber applying the multiphase flow technology of FLUENT,including the changes of resistance,collection efficiency and internal flow field of dust collector under different imported wind speed.(2)Test the dust performance of efficient wet scrubber by experimental method,explore changes in collection efficiency and resistance under different imported wind speed and find the optimum air volume.(3)On-site application based on the actual situation of a mine concentrator of Anhui applying comparative experimental research method to check the dust effects of efficient wet scrubber at the scene.After studying the efficient wet scrubber by experiment,numerical simulation and on-site application,the results are obtained.It shows that when the dust stream get into the dust collector,the flow area increases suddenly and cause relatively large number of vortex,especially around the W-shaped channel,which extend the residence time of dust stream stayin dust collector and good to the collision and coagulation of dust.Hence,W-shaped channel contributes a little more for removing dust.As the imported wind speed increases,the eddy as well as the number inside the dust collector and around W-shaped channel becomes larger,which increases exposure to dust and water,accelerates dust coagulation and sedimentation and finally improve the collection efficiency continuously.But when the speed increases to a certain extent,dust will rotate in the vortex and against dust contact with water,which would reduce the collection efficiency of efficient wet scrubber.At the time that imported wind speed increases,the negative pressure in dust collector will increase.Then the dust resistance and pressure drop of dust collector increases and dust collector can be easily damaged.As the imported wind speed increases,the collection efficiency of dust collector decrease after the first increase and the optimum air volume is 4700.16~5011.20m3/h,which has also been verified by experiment.Despite the scope of imported wind speed sets in the experiment,dust removal efficiency is higher than 99.89%.It proves that efficient wet scrubber can have wide scope of flow rate.The field application of efficient wet scrubber has lots of advantages:reduce dust concentration of each job post significantly,dust pollution and corrosion to equipments and the harm of dust on workers,avoid the loss of ore or secondary pollution,improve the working environment of workers,save costs and improve efficiency.Therefore,efficient wet scrubber has wide popularization and application prospects.
