Synthetic musks(SMs), as cheap alternatives for natural musks, were largely manufactured and widely used as fragrance additives in various industries. They were not only easy to be incorporated into the environments and bioaccumulated into human body, but also difficult to be degraded for the physical chemistry properties. Some visible adverse toxicological effects were also harmful. Usually, they can come into body combined with the food and the personal care products through food chain or skin. However, only a few researches had been reported on synthetic musks in farm soil samples now.In this paper, on the basis of the research progress at home and abroad of synthetic musk, we selected farm soil samples from the Yangtze River Delta and the Northeast China to study. In addition, the pollution level, distribution patterns and and pollution factors of synthetic musk were also studied. Last, the soil ecological risk assessment of two areas was analyzed simply. The main contents in this paper were as follows:1.First, This paper simply introduced SMs physical and chemical characters, some studies of SMs included domestic and international reports and their ecological and environmental effects. Then, the different analytical methods of SMs were compared. Finally, the research purposes, significance and contents of this paper were stated.2.The experimental method of the farm soil samples was established. The synthetic musks were analyzed by the GC-MS after the preparation method of Soxhlet extraction and purification by composite silica gel column that was packed with glass wool, activated silica gel, activated neutral Al2O3 and anhydrous sodium sulfate from bottom to top.3.The results showed that the calibration curves of seven synthetic musks were positively linear in the range of 0.5-100 ng·g-1(R2>0.99), and their contents and pollution were at the mid-level. The concentrations of three SMs(HHCB?AHTN?MK) detected actually in the Yangtze River Delta were ranging from 0.96 to 16.98 ng·g-1?<LOD to14.13 ng·g-1 and <LOD to 0.84 ng·g-1, respectively. The recoveries of spiked samples in soil ranged from 88.8% to 109.3%, and the relative standard deviation ranged from 5.8%to 9.5%. The limit of detection(LOD) and the limit of quantitation(LOQ) ranged from0.03 to 0.33 ng·g-1 ? 0.10 to 1.10 ng·g-1(dry weight), respectively. But, the total concentrations of four SMs(HHCB?AHTN?AHMI?MK) detected from the Northeast China ranged from 2.40 to 12.19 ng·g-1(dry weight). The recoveries of spiked samples insoil ranged from 82.8% to 111.8%, and the relative standard deviation ranged from 4.8%to 9.6%. The limit of detection(LOD) and the limit of quantitation(LOQ) ranged from0.09 to 0.13 ng·g-1, 0.28 to 0.37 ng·g-1(dry weight), respectively.4.Results showed that two targets compounds(HHCB and AHTN) were primarily found in all samples. And the distribution characteristics of SMs were obvious, but their pollution factors were not different distinctly.5.The results of the soil ecological risk assessment showed that all of RQs were lower than 0.01, so these two compounds(HHCB and AHTN) might present very low risk to the farm soil structure, land utilization and agricultural development by the judgment data.
