Temporal And Spatial Distribution Of Natural Disasters In The Tianshan North Road Area In The Qing Dynasty

In historic time (historical period), natural disasters were quite frequent in XinJiang province.(Xinjiang is historically affected by natural disasters). Having always been the political, economic and cultural center, the north slope of TianShan Mountains had a more significant place especially in Qing dynasty. Now XinJiang becomes the core area in the project "One Belt and One Road", so the natural disasters will definitely influence the development of the project if they do break out. In order to reduce or avoid such influences, a thorough study of the natural disasters happened in historic time is of paramount importance.From the viewpoint of historical geography, this essay will have an in-depth exploration of the spacial and temporal distribution of natural disasters in the north slope of TianShan Mountains as well as the loses and the corresponding measures based on the collection and analysis of the relevant historical materials about the natural disasters in the north slope of TianShan Mountains.The main body of the essay consists of four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction. It includes four aspects:the selected topic basis, the definition of the space-time range, related research papers and comments and my specific research method and content.The second chapter mainly studys the spacial and temporal distribution of natural disasters happened in the northern piedmonts of TianShan Mountains in Qing dynasty. Here, I'll divide this area into 3 parts:the east, the middle and the west, and then conduct a statistical data analysis and conclude the characters of the spacial and temporal distribution respectively. Finally, a comprehensive analysis of natural disasters of this area will be achieved.Similar to the second chapter, the third chapter focuses on the spacial and temporal distribution of natural disasters happened in YiLi area in Qing dynasty. First, I'll analyze its frequency and concentricity of these disasters to have a good mastery of its temporal distribution. Then, by analyzing its spacial distribution, I'll figure out in which areas the natural disasters often happened and what influences these disasters had in these areas. Finally, a complete picture about natural disasters of this area will be achieved.The forth chapter will pay special attention to the losses caused by these disasters both in the northern piedmonts of TianShan Mountains and YiLi area in Qing dynasty and the response (solutions) to some major disasters in the north slope of TianShan Mountains.
