Pipeline corrosion refers to the corrosion of the oil or gas pipelines which are getting aging for the chemical reactions or other reasons. The main corrosion modes are oxygen reduction, bacterial, CO2 and H2S corrosions. With the increase in the number of accidents caused by corrosion in oil and gas pipelines, we must fully understand the corrosion situation and establish the corresponding prediction mechanism to prevent the accident.For understanding the oil and gas pipeline corrosion status, the best method is to adopt intelligent detection device from the pipe internal crawling along the pipeline, including corrosion defects miles, clock position, length, width and depth of the defect, but for many oil and gas pipelines, the internal corrosion status has no way of knowing. So NACE launched internal corrosion direct assessment (ICDA) method this year, this method can identify the position and corrosion rate of pipeline information, which is a kind of alternative the intelligent detection of oil and gas pipeline integrity management. But for subsea pipelines, there is the difficulty of the full application of ICDA method at present, this paper analyzes the internal corrosion direct assessment methods in the difficulties and limitations of the application of oil and gas subsea pipelines. Though unable to complete the application of ICDA method, we can draw lessons from the thinking of the method. Under the guidance of ICDA method, this paper use OLGA software to simulate internal flow state the analysis and calculation about a natural gas pipeline in the south sea. By means of the criterion about the liquid holdup identified high-risk position along the pipeline corrosion, the corrosion rate projections for corrosion risk and corrosion rate will be identified. Eventually the corrosion monitoring information of the entrance/exit of the pipeline verifies the results.In this paper, the research of OLGA software can guarantee the smooth running of the pipeline, which has important effect on the application of the technology of natural gas transportation, and has great economic benefit and social benefit.
