As the contradiction between economic development and environmental protection becomes more and more prominent, biodiversity issues have attracted worldwide attention. One of the keys to protect biodiversity is to protect wildlife habitats.Social progress is also associated with a series of environmental problems, advancement of urbanization process makes wildlife habitat area gradually reduced, and even partition habitat, fragmentation phenomenon.Wildlife habitat plays an irreplaceable role in maintaining ecological balance. Therefore, how to protect the habitat and promote harmony between man and nature has become an urgent problem to be solved. In the past, the cooperation between the Greater Mekong Sub-region is mainly economic, and the Yunnan Province, which is in the southwest border region, plays an important role in sub-regional economic cooperation.China has always attached great importance to this. But to promote the development of sub-regional economy, but also take into account the issue of biodiversity protection, many development projects will inevitably affect the environment. In order to realize the development path of the economic, social and environmental benefits of the Greater Mekong Sub-region,international environmental cooperation is also indispensable. In this paper, this article only on the Greater Mekong Subregion wildlife habitat protection of the legal system to explore, other aspects do not repeat them. The biosphere is holistic,so it can't be divided by means of factorization or regional segregation,so it can't be seized independently by individual sovereign states. The GMS is rich in biodiversity, and wildlife habitats are not independent of each other and are often fragmented and inseparable. Therefore, the issue of crossborder protection is particularly important, but also consider the issue of wild animal migration between countries.Due to the differences in the economic situation, legal policy, culture and religion of each country in the sub-region,it is necessary to protect the habitat through cooperation and coordination among countries.Based on the characteristics of the Greater Mekong Subregion, this paper analyzes the current situation of wildlife habitat protection in sub-regions,and studies the existing problems of existing protection measures. This paper argues that to protect the habitat of wildlife in the Greater Mekong Subregion,it is necessary to change the previous legislative concept, formulate a legally binding framework convention and coordinate conflicts between national legislation and build a perfect habitat protection Legal System.Followed by the establishment of specialized protection departments to strengthen cooperation between member countries, and with the corresponding habitat protection measures, such as bio-corridors,public participation, biological database,to build a scientific and feasible habitat protection legal system, effective improvement Status of current subregional habitat.
