In order to obtain photochromic resin lenses that are in accord with national standard and production requirements,it is a crucial step to use suitable optical resin monomers and photochromic material in resin lens manufacturing industry.At present,the photochromic lenses are mainly divided into the chameleons lenses and the base plate discoloration lenses in the photochromic lens manufacturing industry.In chameleons lenses,there is a coating that contains photochromic particles wraps up the surface of the baseplate with excellent properties.The chameleons lenses are featured with excellent mechanical properties as well as outstanding discoloration performance.However,there is some degree of abrasiveness in the daily use of chameleon film layers,which leads to the low durability of this kind of lens in outdoor activities.The baseplate photochromic lenses are made by distributing spiropyrane discoloration particles uniformly into the monomer and then polymerizing them.The formulation design of the baseplate photochromic lenses cannot highlight the impact resistance property and the discoloration property at the same time.However,the ability to simultaneously meet the two performance requirements of the monomer material is relatively scarce.As a result,the orientation of the photochromic resin lens is to explore the recipe of the lens that possess good mechanical property,excellent discoloration performance at low costs.The paper explores how to acquire photochromic lenses by distributing spiropyrane discoloration particles,which compound with functional monomers.Firstly,the paper confirms the proportion of the recipe whose main monomers respectively are:styrene,ethyltrim ethylmethyl-propane trimethacrylate,ethoxylated Bisphenol-A Diacrylate,which uses the 2,2’-Azobisisoheptonitrile as a initiator and the diisooctyl phthalate as a plasticizer.This is an optimal proportion that highlights the mechanical capacity.Then,the research probes the speed of the colour change and fading of the spiropyrane discoloration particles in various kinds of polymers and analyzes the factors that influence the performance the spiropyrane discoloration particles in the polymers,thus determines the components that improve the chromogenic performance.The spiropyrane discoloration particles gain the characteristic of discoloration through opening and changing the photoinduced structure.Based on the molecular resistance theory and the polarity aspect of the closed loop environment,polyethylene glycol(200),polyethylene glycol(400),polyethylene glycol(800),polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene ether block copolymer(F127)and meth acrylic acid are added into the mixed monomers with excellent mechanical properties mentioned above and influences of the components on the discoloration properties are researched.Meanwhile based on the production practice,polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene ether block copolymer(F127)and methacrylic acid are selected out as the effective color-changing ingredients.Due to discoloration performance optimization component polyoxyethylene poly propylene ether oxygen block copolymer(F127)as long chain compound,it is detrimental to the mechanical properties of optical resin to add such compounds to the polymer system.Therefore,the rational proportion of the color optimized components and the mechanical components are explored too.A mixture of styrene,ethylenetrimethyl-propane trimethacrylate,ethoxylated Bisphenol-A Diacrylate is 1:1:2.At the same time,the total weight of polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene ether block copolymer(F127)and total quality of methyl acrylic were no more than 3w%.At last,the proportion has been fine tuned and the refractive index is in the range of 1.5165-1.5175 to coincide with the industry standards.Also,the refractive index of the polymer meet the preparation requirements of 1.56 lenses.Moreover,the molding rate of the lens is controlled by changing the heating process and the adding of stripper.Through the above experiments,this paper determines a kind of base plate color lens formulation and its production process with excellent discoloration and mechanical properties.
