In this paper, four kinds of acrylic oil absorption resins were prepared by process, using different acrylates as raw materials. The effects of monomer ratio, initiator amount, crosslinker types and amount, porogen amount on oil-absorptive rate, oil absorbency and oil relention were discussed. the capacity of synthetic resins on oil slick absorbing and select absorbent to different oils were researched, the structure of synthetic resins were confirmed by IR and the thermal stability of synthetic resins were tested.The process of preparing stable polyacrylate emulsion was obtained by investigating the emulsion polymerzation reaction procedure and emulsion properties of lauryl acrylate and butyl acrylate. When the technology was pre-emulsified and half-continued emulsion polymerization, emulsifier used sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and nonylphenol ethoxylates (OP-10) was 2% of monomers by weight, and the mass ratio of SDS and OP-10 was 1:1, stirring speed is controled at 190 rpm, reaction tempeture was 80℃,oil-water ratio was 1:2, the polymerization reaction and emulsion propretily of lauryl acrylate and butyl acrylate were stability.P(LA/BA) and P(SMA/MA) resins were synthesized by emulsion polmyerization process, using lauryl acrylate(LA) and butyl acrylate(BA), stearyl methacrylate (SMA) and methacrylate(MA) as raw materials. The effects of relevant factors on oil absorptive properties of P(LA/BA) and P(SMA/MA) resins were studied. The result showed when the monomers n(BA):n(LA)=3:1, basing the monomers weight, crosslinker used divinyl benzene(DVB) is 2%, initiator used ammonium persulfate (APS) is 2%, porogen used ethyl acetate is 50%, The oil absorbency of the synthetic resin P (LA/BA) to kerosene, toluene and carbon tetrachloride could reach 7.12g/g,18.10g/g and 33.39g/g respectively, When the monomers n(SMA):n(MA)=1:2, basing the monomers weight, DVB is 1%, APS is 4%, porogen used chloroform is 45%, the oil absorbency of the synthetic resin P(SMA/MA) to kerosene, toluene and carbon tetrachloride could reach 9.16g/g,28.35g/g and 45.12g/g respectively. The oil relention of P(LA/BA) and P(SMA/MA) resins were 90%, which showed good oil absorption properties, and their thermal decomposition temperature were all above 300℃.Through attempting to introduce styrene(St) into P(SMA/MA) resin, P(SMA/MA/St) resin was synthsized, which finest synthetic progress was decided by orthogonal methods. When the monomers m(SMA+MA):m(St)=85:15,(where m(SMA):m(MA)=1:2), basing the monomers weight, DVB is 0.9%, APS is 3.8%, porogen used chloroform is 45%, the oil absorbency of the synthetic resin to kerosene and toluene could reach 10.17g/g and 29.36g/g.On the base of three-polymerization process of P(SMA/MA/St) resin,long-chain acrylic were introduced into the polymerization system. The result showed that the fourth momer have improred the oil absroption propeties of multi-copolymerization acrylis resin. In which lauryl acrylate(LA) and hexadecyl arylate(HA) increased the oil absorbency of the synthetic resin to kerosene and toluene respectirely. When the monomers m(SMA+MA+St):m(HA)=88:12, the oil absorbency of synthetic multi-copolymerization acrylis resin to kerosene, toluene and carbon tetrachloride could reach 15.78g/g,35.51g/g and 51.08g/g respectively, the multi-copolymerization acrylis resin had better capacity on oil slick absorbing, and its thermal decomposition temperature was 350℃.
