This paper mainly examines how the Islamic Art is utilized in Chinese local mosques. It is widely accepted that Islamic Art is one of the highly significant forms of Decoration Art in the world. A large number of renowned architectures, which are characterized by Islamic Art, exist in Europe, being regarded as precious legacy of culture. Meanwhile, the art of Islamic is localized in China. Through interviewing local people and investigating in different cities in China, the author deeply studies Chinese mosques and its inner decoration, especially the decoration in the main halls of these mosques, which are unfamiliar to people who are not Muslim. The main hall of a mosque, as the core of the mosque, is the most beautiful and mysterious part of the mosque that is worthy to appreciate. However, according to religious regulations, people who are not Muslim are not permitted to visit main halls of mosques in China. Consequently, the exquisite decoration in these main halls is unknown to most people in the world Compared with the decoration in other world-well-known mosques, the decoration in Chinese mosques’main halls integrates the Arabic aesthetic elements with Chinese ones, presenting unique beauty of serenity. As one of the three main religions in the world, Islam is mysterious. Meanwhile, it also arouses controversial issues for some reasons in recent years. In this paper, hoping to bring people an objective understanding to Islam and to help protect the art of Islam, the author introduces the unique beauty of Islamic Art in China through photos of main halls of Chinese mosques.
