Waterfront Landscape Design Of Small Towns Based On Henan Regional Culture

Towns' waterfront landscape is a significant part of the public open space,which is particularly important.Today,with the development of urbanization,the problem of landscape homogeneity becomes increasingly serious,which made towns lost their identification.As the soul of the town,regional culture is the key factor that makes the town different from others.However,for blindly pursuing the modernization,a large number of old towns were demolished in many areas,so that many buildings with local characteristics disappeared.As a result,the regional culture requires immediate action of protection and inheritance.The use of regional culture in landscape design is one of the main orientations of landscape design.This will avoid the similarity of waterfront landscape design and promote the regional culture at the same time,so that more people could understand the local regional culture.Aimed at the research project in Xiaoqing River of Pingyu in Henan Province,this paper applied Henan regional culture in a more modern way to carefully design a waterfront landscape with regional characteristics that meet the needs of residents.Through field research and analysis of the project,I combined Henan regional culture with modern design methods.Presenting by modeling,material,decoration,color,layout etc.,I followed the local conditions,and the design principles of people oriented,ecological design as well as cultural heritage.In addition,I discussed the principles and application methods of regional culture in waterfront landscape design,and provided future reference for the application of regional culture in waterfront landscape design.
