Research On The Design Of Walking Environment In University Campuses In South China

Walking is the most basic mode of transportation,but also one of the most simple and healthiest forms of exercise.With the development of education and the expansion of campus construction,"green campus" has gradually become the target of the campus development.Campus walking environment optimization is one of the keys to promote the construction of "green campus".Graceful and comfortable campus walking environment has the positive significance for guiding teachers and students to travel on foot,increasing walking activity,enhancing campus vitality.This paper takes the walking environment of university campus in South China as the research object,using field investigation,observation,questionnaire survey,combining with the Post Occupancy Evaluation and analysis,beginning from the perspective of physical environment and the behavior and psychology of users,To explore the methods of designing the walking environment of university campus in the climate conditions of southern China.In order to provide a reference for creating campus walking environment that is more adaptable to the local environment and meet the local needs.The full text is divided into five chapters.The first chapter expounds the background,significance,methods of the topic selection,the introduction of the main related theories and the previous research profiles;The second chapter summarizes the factors related to the university campus walking environment,including the physical environment,behavior and climate and other elements;The third chapter analyzes and evaluates the present situation of the university campus walking environment in South China,understands the basic situation and demand of the area,and summarizes the characteristics and main problems of the university campus walking environment in South China.The fourth chapter takes Shenzhen University and Guangxi University as an example to analyze systematically from the aspects of physical environmental characteristics,behavior and environmental requirements.Summarizes the comfortable environment characteristics of traffic type walking environment and casual walking environment of the university campus walking system in southern China.And also summarizes the relationship between walking behavior and the environment,and students’ tendencies and needs for the environment.In the fifth chapter,according to the above research,this paper puts forward the design principles,the humanized design strategy,the suggestions of maintenance and management for the walking environment design of the university campus in South China.
