A Node Planning Strategy Outside Campus Based On The Spontaneous Behavior On Campus

In recent years, the construction of our country’s colleges and universities came into the high-speed development period, with the support of national policies and funds. Since "211" and "985" national key campus construction projects implemented, a number of high level universities burgeoned. However, the gap between international first-class universities and them still exited. The reason was that the modern universities in China started later than the foreign universities. After the founding of new China, there was a period of rapid development. The campus constructed successively and most of them followed the mode of the Soviet Union and other European and American countries. In result, assimilations became severe, problems appeared in the development. With the integration of global economy and culture, the concept of education has gradually changed. and the development of campus construction was moving towards the direction of diversification and opening. The closed management of the campus space no longer adapted to the transformation of the concept of education, and the students’ training mode extended to the campus. In the daily life on campus, we find that some external communicative spaces which are well designed by designers are rarely visited by students. On the contrary, spaces without the special design are highly beloved by students. The reason is that in the actual design work, some designers do not pay attention to behaviors of the users of spaces. What they focus are whether the plane is regular, the function meet the use, very detailed classification. In this context, I hope that through the planning and design of the South Campus of Hebei University of Engineering, we start from the study of students’ spontaneous behavior and put forward some suggestions for the design of external space in domestic campuses.
