Investigations of the distribution and variation of gamma radiation field play an important role in nuclear installation monitor and reducing the possibility of unnecessary radiation exposure to the staff.The data got from simulation and experiment is small scaled,discrete and irregular distributed.With the help of scattered data interpolation method,one can obtain the entire gamma radiation field distribution.Multiquadric parallel radial basis function interpolation method is especially promising because of the simple form,high computation accuracy,interpolation poisedness and irrelevant to dimensions.In present paper,Multiquadric algorithm is applied to reconstruct the gamma radiation field for the first time.The content of the paper is as follow:First,several classic scattered data interpolation techniques are introduced with the emphasis on Multiquadric algorithm.Second,Multiquadric algorithm is applied to reconstruct the gamma field based on simulated gamma field information.For the gamma radiation with rotational symmetry,it is found that,the reconstruction results from Multiquadric method is much better than the result from the built-in interpolation method of MATLAB based on the same sampling data.For the gamma radiation field with ?/2 symmetry,an optimized method for sampling data is proposed and it is found that the average relative error of Multiquadric interpolation results after optimization has been reduced.At last,Multiquadric algorithm is applied to reconstruct the gamma field based on detected gamma field information.For the gamma radiation of 152Eu,which is a point source and be put in a stainless steel round can without cover,it is found that Multiquadric interpolation results is similar to the Monte Carlo simulation data.In conclusion,we apply Multiquadric algorithm in gamma field reconstruction based on small scaled,discrete and irregular distributed simulation and detected gamma field information.It is found that Multiquadric algorithm can be applied for the reconstruction of the gamma radiation filed with the efficiency and high precision.
