Salmonella is an important zoonotic pathogen,it brought huge economic losses for the livestock and poultry industry, and meanwhile has important public health significance. There are over 2,600 serotypes of Salmonella currently, and most of them can show pathogenicity to humans in a certain degree.Salmonella is also one of the major pathogens causing food poisoning.salmonellosis is caused by Salmonella bacteria in a variety of animal and human disease in general, the main clinical manifestations is sepsis and enteritis. In this study,we collected the animal samples from Yangzhou University Animal Hospital. After isolation, identified and tested for susceptibility of Salmonella. We detected the Salmonella efflux pump gene by PCR.This study aims to invesgate the epidemiological characteristics of salmonella in the region and provide related theory basis for the study of salmonella efflux pumps.1.Isolation and identification of Salmonella and serotype analysis includedOne of the main purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of Salmonella in Yangzhou and its surrounding areas. From July 2015 to February 2017,860 animal samples were collected from the Animal Hospital of Yangzhou University. After pre-enrichment,enrichment,purification and PCR identification,we have isolated 126 strains of Salmonella, which means 14.65%of isolation rate. The results of serotype identification showed that the typhoid serum of the isolates accounted for 45.23%of all isolates, followed by Salmonella enteritidis, accounting for 17.91%,indicating that Salmonella typhimurium was the dominant serotype in Yangzhou and surrounding areas.2.The drug resistance analysis of Sallmonella isolates. The susceptibility of Salmonella isolates was tested by disc-diffusion method. The results showed that 69.0%isolates were resistant to doxycycline and 42.1%isolates were resistant to streptomycin. And menawhile, the multi-drug resistance of Salmonella was also very serious.Among the 126 strains of Salmonella isolates,48 strains of Salmonella were resistant to more than 3 antibiotics, and the multidrug resistance was 38.0%.3.The analysis of Salmonella efflux pumpIn this paper, the detection rates of emrE,emrAB,ber,mdfA,STY0901 and mdtK of Salmonella efflux pump genes were detected, which means the wide spread of efflux pumps in Salmonella. The positive rate of each gene was about 90%.32 strains of Salmonella isolates were sensitive to all tested antibiotics and the positive rate of efflux pump was more than 90%,which indicated that the whether resistance of Salmonella existed or not was not that closely related to the presence of efflux pump.
