Effect Of Huoxue Jiedu Decoction On Submandibular Gland Of Mice With Sjögren's Syndrome

Sjogren's Syndrome(SS) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that majorly invades the exocrine epithelial cells,it is also known asautoimmune exocrine disease. The main clinical manifestations are dry mouth and dry eyes,which are caused by the damaged salivary and lacrimal glanda dysfunction.Presently, the exact etiology and patho genesis of the disease are not clear, most scholars believe that genetic, viral infections and immune-related.In TCM,SS belongs to "Dry paralysis".Its etiology and pathogenesis are complex, and physicians's recognizions and treatment methods are different.According to my supervisor Professor Zhu Yuelan's long-term clinical experience, use of invigorating blood circulation and detoxification, Yangyin Shengjin to treat SS, use of prescription of the Huoxue Jicdu decoction,this made good curative clinical e fficacy.By literature review, clinical analysis and experiments,this essay further studies the mechanism of Huoxue Jiedu decoction on SS to provide powerful evidences for clinical applications.Objectives:This topic is divided into three parts.Firstly,we toretrieve domestic and foreign papers i n recent years and review of Chinese and Western medicine on SS as a whole.Secondly, we analyze of the clinical application of Huoxue Jiedu detoxification, provide a basis of invigorating blood circulation,detoxification and Yangyin Shengjin on SS. Finally,we o bserve the mice body weight,salivary flow and submandibular gland morphology,and fro m the perspective of basic research to explore the mechanism of Huoxue Jiedu decoction on SS,to lay the groundwork for further study, and to provide corresponding experiment al basis for clinical treatment.Methods:1. Method of theoretical research:By retrieving literature at home and abroad,from ancient to present, Chinese and Western knowledge of Sjogren's Syndrome is reviewed and the overall disease is captured.2. Method of clinical research:we investigate the theoretical origin of "Huoxue J iedu decoction", resolve "Huoxue Jiedu decoction" and analyze of its pre-clinical studie s and typical cases.3. Method of experimental research:we divided the experimental mice into four gr oups,make BALB/C mice as a blank control group, spontaneous SS model mice (NOD) a s a model group, NOD mice gavaged with Pavlin (Total Glucosides of Paeony) as a p ositive control group and NOD mice gavaed with Huoxue Jiedu decoction as a experim ental group.Experimental period is8weeks. We measured the body weight of mice an d saliva flow every two weeks.At the end of the experiment,we took the submandibular gland and observed the invasion of lymphocytes in the submandibular gland.Results:1. Results of theoretical research:Based on the analysis of literature, combined wi th professor Zhu Yuelan's long-term experience,a conclusion was drew.Yin-chun deficie ncy is the incidence of the disease foundation.Dry, poison, blood stasis and cross-junctio n are the keys to the development of this disease pathology. Dry poison is throughout the whole process. Therefore professor Zhu presents her argument from Yangyin Shengjin Runzao, and attachs importance to the method of Jiedu Qingzao and Huoxue Huayu. Good curative effects have been achieved.2. Results of clinical research:Huoxue Jiedu decoction has the function of Huoxu e Jiedu and Yangyin Shengjin.It can modulate of immune, and ameliorate microcircula tion.it also promotes glandular secretion. Its clinical efficacy is certainly.3. Results of experiment research:Huoxue Jiedu decoction can significantly impr ove the saliva secretion volume. Compared with the model group,the traditional Chinese medicine group and pavlin group have significant difference.Huoxue Jiedu decoction c an reduce the infiltration of lymphocytes, Inhibit the destruction of the submandibular gla nd,and protect their saliva secretory function.Conclusion:1.Huoxue Jiedu decoction could significantly improve salivary flow rate, increase th e amount of saliva secretion, relieve dry mouth, so as to achieve the treatment of Sjogren' s syndrome2. Huoxue Jiedu decoction could protect Sjogren's syndrome mouse submandibular gland, reduce the immune and inflammatory responsion, inhibit of lymphocyte infiltratio n in the submandibular gland, inhibit the destruction of the submandibular gland acinar an d duct structure, inhibit of the submandibular gland atrophy.It could protect the secretory function of salivary glands, and increase the amount of saliva secretion, so as to achieve its treatment of Sjogren's syndrome in mice.
