BackgroundPreconception care can eliminate or reduce from the probability of adverse pregnancy outcome, improve the health level of women and their offspring, and reduce the health care costs.Nowadays,as the implement of the universal two-child policy, the population and family planning work in China will enter an important period of development.,population situation will also be a major change.Under the new situation of population development,it is an inevitable choice for China to accelerate the improvement of preconception care and guarantee the health of mothers and infants.Traditional Chinese medicine eugenic has its unique advantages in preconception care,it is of great practical significance to promote the health and safety of women of childbearing age and their offspring with pertinence and security.Studies have found an association between parents constitution and the health of infants.Traditional Chinese medicine eugenic can not only improve the health of women of childbearing age, also can reduce the occurrence of complications during pregnancy.and neonatal diseases At present, the conventional preconception eugenic interventions are still mainly based on Western medicine, and the traditional Chinese medicine has not been popularized in a large scale. In addition, previous researches mainly evaluated the improvement of women's constitution and infants' physical development parameters such as height, weight, etc, while the influence on babies intelligence development is still unknown, need further research.ObjectiveThis study compares the differences of the developmental quotient of gross motor and language between the TCM Intervention group and control group,in order to provide scientific basis and data support for the further research. The research results can promote the application of traditional Chinese medicine in the field of preconception care and provide some clues to guarantee the smooth development of eugenics work.MethodsUsing the method of field test, the Pinggu District of Beijing was selected as the research site.In accordance with the principle of comparability of social economic development, the Pinggu District was divided into two regions and set randomly as experimental area and control area. The experimental group was in the guidance of TCM eugenics intervention(diet, meridian regulation, living nursing, sport conditioning and emotional nursing)and conventional eugenics intervention, while the control group received conventional eugenics intervention. All intervention subjects were followed up,the infants of intervention subjects were tested by Gesell Developmental Schedules when they were 6,9 and 12 months old,and the developmental quotient of gross motor and language between the two groups were compared.Stratified analysis method was used to adjust the confounding factors, and to compare the difference of infants developmental quotient of gross motor and language between two groups. Results and Discussion1 BaselineWithin one year after intervention, the pregnancy rate was 80.49%in the experimental group, and the pregnancy rate was 78.65%in the control group. There was no significant difference in the pregnancy rate between the two groups.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,a total of 131 infants and their mothers were enrolled in the study, including 64 cases in the experimental group and 67 cases in the control group. There was no significant difference in the age, education level, occupation and family income distribution between the two groups. The average age of the mothers was 26.09 years old, secondary school and higher education were the majority accounting for 94.66%,mostly work in private enterprises and were self-employed(46.56%),followed by the institutions and civil servants or state-owned enterprise workers, accounting for 35.11%.In addition to the rate of passive smoking during pregnancy was statistically significant difference between the groups(P=0.03<0.05),other pregnancy related conditions including pregnancy illness, malnutrition and delivery methods showed no significant difference between the two groups. There was no significant difference in infants gender, feeding mode, eaning foods adding time and early education between experimental group and control group.Infants with phenylketonuria, hyperbilirubinemia and other neonatal diseases were not found in this study.2 Effect of constitution interventionBefore the intervention, there was no significant difference in the scores of Pinghe constitution between two group mothers(P=0.78>0.05).After 3 months intervention, the experimental group mothers Pinghe constitution mean score changed from 59.23±13.69 to 64.52±16.95,mean score difference before and after the intervention is 5.29±14.97,the control group mothers Pinghe constitution mean score mean score improved from 60.49±13.36 to 60.74±12.45,and average score difference before and after the intervention was 0.25±13.29;Mean score difference was statistically significant difference between two groups(P=0.03).The results showed that the effect of TCM Intervention on improvement of the preconception constitution is better than that of conventional preconception intervention.3 Comparison of physical development of infantThe height and weight of the two groups infants were compared by repeated measures analysis of variance. The results showed that there were significant differences in the height and weight of the infants between 6,9 and 12 months old(P<0.05)and the height and weight of the infants increased with time, there was no significant difference in the height and weight of the infants between two groups(P>0.05).4 Comparison of the infants intelligence development between the experimental group and the control groupThe results showed that there was no significant difference between the three test points in 6,9 and 12 months old of the children in the developmental quotient of gross motor and language(P>0.05).There was no significant difference between the experimental group group and the control group in the infants gross motor and language developmental quotients(P>0.05).In addition to passive smoking during pregnancy factor, other factors which may affect the the infants intelligence development such as maternal age, maternal education level, family income, pregnancy illness, malnutrition and delivery methods, infant gender, feeding mode, eaning foods adding time and early education had no significant difference between the two groups. After controlling the confounding variables(passive smoking),there were no significant differences between the two groups in infants gross motor and language developmental quotients.Conclusion1 Physical development:The Traditional Chinese medicine eugenic group and the conventional eugenic group had no significant difference in infants height and weight(P>0.05).2 There was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the infants gross motor and language areas(P>0.05).After controlling the confounding variables(passive smoking),infants gross motor and language developmental quotients were not significantly differences between the two groups(P>0.05).3 The results of this study can not determine whether there is a positive effect of TCM eugenics intervention on the infants height, weight, development of the gross motor and language, futher studies need to expand the sample size and extend the intervention time.
