| Summary:There are two reviews in this thesis.The first review summarizes the advances in the etiology,pathogenesis and the check using trichoscopy of Androgenetic alopecia(AGA),as well as the progress,especially the advantages and side effects,of various treatments for AGA in recent years.The second review is mainly about the progress of the Chinese medicine treatment of AGA in clinical application.Clinical research section:Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a kind of Chinese herbal medicine gel in the treatment of AGA.Methods:Randomized single-blind and autologous control methods were used.A total of 43 male AGA patients were randomly divided into two groups:the Chinese herbal medicine gel treatment group(hereinafter referred to as the treatment group)and the blank gel treatment control group(hereinafter referred to as the control group).There were 29 cases in the treatment group and 14 cases in the control group.All the patients were asked to smear their own gels on the scalp of both side of the frontal angle every day.The clinical observation time was 6 months.During the treatment period,the patients filled the case report form(CRF table),tested by the hair microscope and took the medicine for the next treatment cycle once 6 weeks.After the 6 months clinical observation.The test results of hair microscope could be used to study the hair mutation rate,total number of hairs,scalp inflammation,etc.All those results were used to evaluate the clinical safety and the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine herbal gel treatment of AGA.Research results:① There was no significant difference in the general clinical data between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05).The correlation between the treatment group and the control group was similar,which indicated that the efficacy of the follow-up clinical trial was comparable.② After 6 months,the treatment group had significant improvement in hair mutation rat and scalp inflammation grade,and the results showed the significant statistical difference(P≤0.001).There were 7 patients whose total hair growth rate was between 30%and 70%,and there were 22 patients whose hair growth rate was less than 30%,which mean the gel could improve hair growth rate.The clinical effective rate was 24.14%,there was significant statistical difference between the treatment group and the control group in the objective curdive effects(P<0.001).Subjective symptoms,including scalp sebum secretion and folliculitis,of the treatment group were improved after treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Especially,the secretion of scalp sebum was significantly different from that of the control group(P<0.001).③ All the patients in this program did not show discomfort using their gels which indicates that the Chinese medicine herbal gel is very safe.④ The formula of this Chinese medicine herbal gel was created in the principal of removing damp-heat,activating and nourishing blood and nourishing liver and kidney.In the treatment the gel could help the patients reducing the scalp sebum secretion,improve scalp inflammation and increase the growth of the hair.Conclusion:The clinical trial showed Chinese medicine herbal gel had a good treatment on male AGA,the effect of the treatment group was significantly better than the control group.This gel did not show any side effects to the patients in this clinical trial proving that the safety of Chinese medicine herbal gel treatment of male AGA is guaranteed.Chinese medicine herbal gel is a kind of effective and safe Chinese medicine topical preparations to treat male AGA. |
