A Survey Of The Differences Between The Two Constitutional Theories In 124 Patients With Eczema

ObjectiveProfessor WangQi established a theory of exterior-interior relation theory,and according to the theory,specific types of constitution has susceptibility to certain types of dermatology diseases.In this research,we observe eczema patients in different TCM diagnosis syndrome and different constitution and clarify the correlation between certain type of constitution with different eczema TCM syndromes."Huang Di Nei Jing" is the orgin of Chinese and Korean constitution theory.In Korean medicine,there’s an equivalent of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitution theory which is called SaSang(Four Manifestation)physique theory.There are only theoretical research on the comparisons of the two systems so far;there aren’t any much clinical research about two theories related to specific diseases.Eczema is one of the most common diseases in dermatology practice.According to the results of Chinese and Korean constitution classification of eczema patients,the correspondence between TCM constitution theory and Korea’s constitution theory is explored from the clinical point of view.Method124 cases of eczema between 18 years old and 65 years old,according to "the Chinese People’s Republic of Chinese medicine industry standard Chinese medicine dermatology diagnosis and treatment of standard" to develop dialectical classification,the use of" TCM physique type evaluation " and " Four manifestation physique evolution Table TS-QSCD "for physical type judgment.Count data with chi-square test,measurement data using the mean±standard deviation.Dependency analysis with column associativity and Lambda values.Using the corresponding analysis method to explore the corresponding relationship between the various physique.With P<0.05 was statistically significant.Result1.Among 124 cases of eczema patients,41.9%belongs to excessive damp heat syndrome,33.9%belongs to spleen deficiency and dampness,24.2%belongs to blood deficiency and dryness.2.Among 124 patients,categorized through TCM physique theory from high to low followed;Damp heat(21.8%),Qi deficiency(13.7%),balanced(12.9%),Yang deficiency(12.1%),Yin deficiency(12.1),phlegm-dampness(10.5%),Qi stagnated(6.5%),Blood stasis(5.6%),allergic(4.8%).3.Among 124 patients,the numbers in Sasang physique types are:Taiyin(38.7%),Shaoyin(31.5%),Shaoyang(25%),Taiyang(4.8%).4.The different Eczema TCM symptoms have shown positive correlation with TCM constitution theory(Contingency Coefficient = 0.554,Lambda value 0.207).Among different categories in TCM constitution theory,those fits the symptoms of excessive damp heat are;Damp heat,Balanced,Phlegm damp;Patients fits spleen deficient and dampness are:Qi deficient,Damp heat;Patients fits blood deficient and dryness are:Yin deficient,Yang deficient.5.The different Eczema TCM symptoms have shown positive correlation with Sasang constitution theory(Contingency Coefficient=0.605,Lambda value 0.459).Excessive damp and heat syndrome has positive correlation with Taiyin type.Spleen-deficiency and dampness syndrome has positive correlation with Shaoyin type,and Blood-deficiency and dryness syndrome has positive correlation with Shaoyang type.6.The TCM constitution categories have shown positive correlation with Sasang constitution types(Contingency Coefficient = 0.503,Lambda value 0.168).Shaoyang type is correlated to these TCM constitution types:Yin deficient,Yang deficient;Shaoyin type is correlated to these TCM constitution types:Qi deficient,Damp heat;Taiyin type is correlated to the following:Damp heat,Balanced,Phlegm-dampness,Qi stagnated,Blood stasis,allergic.ConclusionThe results of the study found that damp and heat syndrome are more common in Damp heat;Spleen-deficiency and dampness syndrome is more common in terms of Qi deficiency;patients fits blood deficient and dryness are more common in yin deficiency.There is a certain degree of consistency between constitution and pathogenesis.Clinical observation of the relationship between TCM constitution types and Sasang physique theory,showing Yin deficiency,Yang deficiency and Shaoyang type are more closely linked,Qi deficiency,Damp heat and Shaoyin type are more closely linked;Damp heat,Balanced,Phlegm-dampness and Taiyin type are more closely linked.It is not a one-to-one relationship between the type of TCM constitution types and Sasang physique theory type in eczema patients.And the relationship between the two affected by the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease.Korea’s constitution theory according to the clinical manifestations of patients with Sasang physiquetype prescription,but the main principle of treatment is to reconcile the various physical metabolic balance,resulting in organs and balanced size,attention to treatment to maintain the constitution of the energy balance,The clinical manifestations of patients with additional drugs,through the physical aspects of the study,the treatment of refractory eczema guidance,combined with the corresponding theoretical conditions of Chinese and Korean drugs can increase the efficacy of drug use.But TCM and Korea’s constitution method using drugs,learning the theoretical side is still exist differences between the two countries need further study.
