Self-made Bushen Shugan Decoction In The Treatment Of Mild To Moderate Stress Urinary Incontinence In Adult Women

BackgroundChinese and international studies have shown that the incidence of female stress urinary incontinence is increasing year by year.Symptoms of stress urinary incontinence have a great impact on women's normal work,social networking,travel,and even sex.It is more likely to create obstacles to their psychological and social adaptation.Modern medicine regards age,obesity,and chronic diseases as the relevant factors of stress urinary incontinence.With the increase in the pursuit of health in modern society and the popularity of medical knowledge,stress urinary incontinence is originally a high incidence of medical,and the visit rate increasing year by year,modern medicine mainly treats stress urinary incontinence through conservative,medical,and surgical methods.Severe stress urinary incontinence patients are currently suitable for surgical treatment,and patients with mild-moderate urinary stress incontinence may choose multiple treatment methods.The treatment methods of modern medicine more or less have some disadvantages such as high cost,low convenience,adverse reactions,etc.,which reduce the patient's acceptance.Traditional Chinese medicine has its advantages of economic,security and low adverse reactions.The ancient and modern doctors have their own understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis and a summary of clinical trials for the reference of modern Chinese medicine learning.Adding the traditional Chinese medicine to the treatment of stress urinary incontinence is meaningful to both search the new methods of mild-moderate stress urinary incontinence and the development of modern Chinese medicine.ObjectivesTo study the effect of the self-made decoction of kidney-tonifying and liver smoothing on the treatment of mild-moderate stress urinary incontinence in adult females and compare the curative effect of this decoction combined with pelvic floor muscle training and pelvic floor muscle training.Evaluation the clinical curative effect of the self-made decoction of kidney-tonifying and liver smoothing from the liver depression and kidney deficiency.Methods64 adult female patients who diagnosed as mild-moderate stress urinary incontinence with meet the diagnosis criteria of liver depression and kidney deficiency from urology outpatient department of Dongfang Hospital.According to the random number table,the patients were randomly divided into two groups.The Chinese medicine group was treated with the self-made decoction of kidney-tonifying and liver smoothing combined with pelvic floor muscle training;the control group was only treated with pelvic floor muscle training.Evaluation efficacy before and after treatment in both groups by ICI-Q-SF scores,24-hour incontinence frequency,TCM symptom scores,termination test,and I-QOL scores.RESULTSBefore and after treatment in the Chinese medicine group,ICI-Q-SF scores,24h incontinence frequency,TCM symptom scores,termination test,and I-QOL scores were statistically significant(P<0.01).The control group was compared before and after treatment.The difference of ICI-Q-SF scores,24h incontinence frequency and I-QOL scores were statistically significant(P<0.01),and there was no statistical difference between TCM symptom scores and termination tests(P=0.13,0.06);After treatment in the control group,the ICI-Q-SF scores and TCM symptom scores were statistically significant(P<0.01),24h incontinence frequency,termination test,and I-QOL scores were statistically significant(P=0.023,0.041,0.023).Clinical curative effect:The total effective rate of the Chinese medicine group was 87.67%,and the total efficiency of the control group was 54.84%.The difference in total effective rate between the two groups was statistically significant(P=0.011).ConclusionThe self-made decoction of kidney-tonifying and liver smoothing combined with pelvic floor muscle training and pelvic floor muscle training were effective for the treatment of mild-moderate stress urinary incontinence.There were different degrees improvement in ICI-Q-SF scores,24h incontinence frequency and I-QOL scores,and the self-made decoction of kidney-tonifying and liver smoothing combined with pelvic floor muscle training effect is better.Olny pelvic floor muscle training of few improvement in TCM symptom scores and urinary control ability,the self-made decoction of kidney-tonifying and liver smoothing combined with pelvic floor muscle training improves the two better.Patients with mild-moderate stress urinary incontinence treated with the self-made decoction of kidney-tonifying and liver smoothing combined with pelvic floor muscle training have a certain effect.It is worth further study.
