The patients of asthenia symptom made up the majority of ancient patients who suffered from impotence, which, due to their low diet quality, poor medical conditions, overwork and intemperate sexual strain. However, the characteristics of the symptom of impotence have been changed a lot, which have almost been turned into sthenia symptom rather than asthenia symptom because of the development of the society, the living standard and the working environment, which, led to great improvement of live, conversely, the conditions of lack of food and acquired dystrophy have been declined. Some scholars have retrieved the related literature of the liver depression syndrome of impotence by retrieving the Chinese knowledge network database(1979-2015 years),which made them find that the single syndrome type of this disease is less than the type accompanied by other syndromes, among which the frequency of liver qi deficiency and kidney deficiency is the highest and the proportion is up to 50%.Professor Li Yueqing pointed out that for the impotence of liver and kidney, liver and kidney disease are more common and the deficiency of liver and kidney is the basic pathogenesis. As for the treatment of this disease, the basics of treatment on the liver and kidney should be advocated.Professor Li's clinical experience in male subjects over the past 40 years and he suggested that the disease should be treated with Bushen Shugan decoction on the basis of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment. Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Bushen Shugan decoction in treating impotence of kidney deficiency and liver depression, and to explore whether the erectile function and the improvement effect of the systemic symptom in the patients with kidney deficiency and liver depression type impotence are better than the simple kidney tonifying method;then explore the TCM diagnosis and treatment scheme of the deficiency of the liver qi stagnation syndrome type and promote its application in clinical practice. Methods:The trial protocol used a clinical randomized controlled trial(RCT)program to estimate the sample size using the statistical sample calculation formula and calculated the required number of 106 cases.According to the inclusion criteria, the eligible patients were selected and randomized. The patients were randomly divided into treatment group(53 cases)and control group(53 cases). The treatment group was given Bushen Shugan Decoction orally, and the control group was given Congrong Yishen granules orally. The Chinese herbal medicine was made into no-fried granules, and was brewed with 250ml of warm boiled water twice a day, taken orally 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner respectively. The observation period was 4 weeks. The patients' corresponding symptom scores were recorded before and after treatment, including IIEF-5 score,PHQ-9 score, major symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, and minor symptom scores. At the same time, the adverse reaction performance and number of cases were recorded.Data is processed using SPSS 24.0 statistical software. Results:There were 2 cases and 5 cases of shedding in the treatment group and the control group respectively. The total number of effective cases was 99 cases.Shedding cases were controlled within the expected range and had no effect on the statistical results. In the treatment group,7 cases were cured,6 cases were markedly effective,24 cases were effective,14 cases were invalid, the total effective rate was 72.5%,5 cases were cured,5 cases were markedly effective,18 cases were effective and 20 cases were invalid in the control group, the total effective rate was 58.3%.Both Bushen Shugan Decoction and Congrong Yishen granules could relieve the clinical symptoms of kidney deficiency and liver-qi stagnation,In the IIEF-5 score,PHQ-9 scores, and TCM syndrome score scores, there was statistically significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).In the IIEF-5,PHQ-9 and scores of the main symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, the treatment group improved better than the control group(P<0.05),with statistical differences. In the secondary symptoms of Chest tightness,Emotional irritability,Taixi aspect, the improvement of the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05),a minor weakness in TCM symptom waist, tinnitus, chills, lassitude, excessive thinking, there was no statistical difference between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).Two patients in the treatment group had milder symptoms of diarhea after taking the drug.Considering the effect of activating blood drugs and the deficiency of Qi and blood, there was no adverse reaction in the control group. Conclusion:For the treatment of impotence due to kidney deficiency and liver stagnation,Bushen Shugan Decoction and Congrong Yishen granules have obvious curative effects.there are significant differences in the IIEF-5 scores, major symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, some minor symptom scores, and PHQ-9 scores after treatment.Studies have shown that Bushen Shugan Decoction has better clinical efficacy than Congrong Yishen granules in treating kidney deficiency and liver stagnation impotence;tonifying the kidney and dispersing the liver has better effect on erectile function and systemic symptoms in patients with kidney deficiency and liver stagnation impotence than simple kidney supplementation.which can be further promoted in the clinical treatment.
