An Analysis Of Islamic Religious Extremism In The Vision Of Marxism

Islam is one of the world's three major religions. With the shifting of world's politics and economy power, The Islamic religious extremism has become intensified under the influence of the Islamist Movement since the new century. Western foes have made negatively affect on our social stability and national security by the Islamic religion in order to split and westernize China. With their support, the Islamic ideological groups in the northwest frontier seriously threatened China's regime and security by terrorist attack on government agencies and civilians. Being a pluralistic-religions communist country, Chinese government has used the Marxist theory of religion as the guideline of religion affairs. Adapting Marxism toward the Islamic religious extremism is not only an effective solution to the current religion issues, but also a porent weapon to fight with ideological groups invasion. Combined with Marxism religion theory, this paper analyses the social conditions and ideological origin which emerge the Islamic religious extremism like wealth disparities in Islam world, contribution from the western hegemony and internal contradictions of Islam religion, also like the subordination and dedication emphasized in Islam. Meanwhile, this paper summarized the Islamic religious extremism evolution into four steps which including Mohamed period, Orsman Turkey period, resistance to western hegemony and contemporary globalization. Based on domestic consideration, this paper also summarized the characteristic of Islamic religious extremism into violence, politics, deceit, pseudo religion and anti-society, which state the threat of Islamic religious extremism. In the end of this paper, the author proposed practical suggestions on applying Marxist theory of religion to solve the problems of Islamic religious extremism, which could be concluded into upholding Marxism religion theory, fighting Islamic religious extremism, encouraging advanced socialist culture, pushing un-extremism, preventing extremism penetration and disseminating anti- extremism among the general public.
