Research On The Image Of Mothers In Korean Movies In The 21st Century

The late 1990 s, South Korea's political situation gradually stabilized, in terms of yield and quality Korean films have made a qualitative leap, especially since the 21 century, Ki-duk Kim's empty room, Park Chan-wook's Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Bong Joon-ho's mother and other Korean films have already shone at international film festivals.Korean filmmakers combine historical background with cultural background of the nation, use their own unique way to show the world their thinking about history and reality.Korean society has deeply influenced by Confucianism, Korean men occupy the higher status in society, while Korean women are in a subordinate or vassal status. With the continuous development of Korean society, the social status of Korean women can be improved, Korean filmmakers have begun to focus on the reality of women living conditions. Especially the image of mother as the representative of women, Korean filmmakers begin to assimilate the individual's unique thought into creating the image of mother. Therefore, I choose this particular image of mother of Korean movies to study the culture about the image of mother, as well as interaction between social reality and the image of mother.In this paper, I use the literature survey, text reading method, comparative analysis as the theoretical basis of the study, simultaneously, I combine with Korean history and reality of systematic research. The first chapter, according to the role of personality characteristics to the 21 century Korean movie Mother image into the kindhearted mother, the resentful mother and the mother who challenge prohibition. The second chapter analyzes the emergence of Korean mother image which associated with traditional Confucian culture and the culture of hate. In terms of the Confucian culture, the author from the mother rolls Confucian attitude start to study how the image of the mother inheritance and development of Confucianism. In terms of the culture of hate, the author from two aspects: hate is how to produce and hate is how to digest. And the author study mother's hate is how to generate national psychology and how to release it. The third chapter analyzes mother's Cultural Function in 21 century Korean movie, explain how the mother becomes the object of desire projected subject spirit, how the mother vassal by the home country of the home country becomes isomorphic spiritual core strength, And thus I sum the defect that Korean filmmakers how to shape the image of the mother and give Chinese filmmakers enlightenment that how to shape the image of the mother.
