Yuan Dynasty is the first feudal dynasty established by the minority regime in the history of our country. Minority has always been good at singing and dancing. At that time the country has a vast unprecedented vast size, the ruler's mind is more inclusive, creating a prosperous, multivariate dance culture in Mongolian Yuan Dynasty. In the yuan dynasty Tibetan Buddhism is widespread, it has a very important position and Tibetan Buddhism culture has penetrated into all aspects of social life, which naturally affected the music and at that time, many dances related to Tibetan Buddhism culture began to emerge. In those dances, the Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo is a typical one. The Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo has been inherited and preserved in our ancient heritage for a long period of time, in the continuation of the process, sometimes it was in decline, sometimes in a rise trend. In the Yuan Dynasty it once reached the peak level. The Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo which has Tibetan Tantric Buddhism culture as a foundation, is a multi-ethnic cultural integrated, vivid, high level dance. However the Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo ‘s formation was not accomplished at one move, it must have a far-reaching historical source; on the other hand, this dance cannot disappear suddenly, it must be traceable.This paper Investigates and identifies the historical origin of the Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo in detail, then argues that there is the possibility that the Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo in Yuan Dynasty, Tibetan Bon original legend, the Tibetan Sixteen people dance, and the Dance of Sixteen Spiritual Consorts from the Tangut Xia kingdom are all possibly come down in one continuous line; it summarized the form features, aesthetic significance and value orientation of the Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo in yuan dynasty; Also made a comparison between the Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo and the dance of Aa Jokajdemar in today's Inner Mongolia Chifeng City Halaqin Shan Tong Temple, and put the point of view that those two dances are come from one common source but in different schools. Finally, this paper explores the specific forms of expression of the the Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo: it summarize the lyrics word for word. This paper considered that the structure of the Dance of Sixteen Tian Mo can be divided into two parts which are offering eight kind of tribute before dance and the main dance segment, and the main dance segment can be divided into four parts which are toward the south gate, east gate, north gate and west gate to make an offering ritual; Also in accordance with the order, describe the dance movements one by one. This paper presents the sixteen Tian Mo dance as complete as possible to the readers.
