"Temple VCham" is a large-scale ritual activity in Tibetan Buddhism. The dance part of it has a rich religious meaning and is a complex dynamic symbol. Folk sacrificial dances are important parts of the original worship ceremony. Research in this article focuses on these two religious dances. From observation of their current transmission in Qinghai district, and based on current authentic situation, we will try to charter the historical evolution and development of these dances. Through comparison, we will highlight their common characteristics in form and essential meaning in religion.Attempting to use research methods and achievements based on shape characteristic of choreoecology, and using anthropological fields study, and using anthropological field observation methods, we emphasize on clear analysis of the basic shapes and typical characteristics of "Temple VCham" and folk sacrificial dances in Qinghai. We try to have analysis and explanation on the living environment influenced by these religious ceremonies. We hope to make further progress in research in Chinese traditional and national dance studies. The past research yield success and shortcomings. The latter is attributable to the lack of good scientific theories and methods. New efforts in methodology in this article provides a new angle in research and gives a new conclusion on national and religious dance. All details and examples from the field in this article is an authentic record of religious dance in Qinghai.This article includes a synopsis and three chapters. The main concept of this article is the synopsis which is a summary of the results of the research, and an introduction of the methods and purpose in this research. In chapter one, we charter the evolution and current situation of "Temple VCham" in Tibetan Buddhism in Qinghai district, analyzing its role and classification, typical dynamics and configuration. In chapter two, a brief introduction will be given on some basic varieties and transmission of folk sacrificial dances in Qinghai district. We emphasize on analysis of catalogs and procedures in "June Grand Gathering", a grand gathering of many kinds of folk and memorial sacrificial dances of common civilians, especially, the one which is described as the primeval "Living fossil" ?blood and flesh sacrificial ceremony in Qinghai. In chapter three, we will have an overall analysis of religious art and symbolic characteristics between these two dances- Temple "VCham" and folk sacrificial ceremony. We will highlight the similarity of these two in morphology due to their origins from the same cultural environment and belief.Due to the turbulence and changes of the twentieth century, these two dances have undergone great changes. China's strategy in development of the western regions and the rising passion in protection of the national heritage require meticulous work in research, and practical and realistic scientific methods. This article will provide an example of such explorative research. In fact, this is our original intention.
