Plays of classical dancing of Han and Tang dynasties are created by Professor Sun Ying through nearly half a century's cultural accumulation and tireless thinking, exploration and practices. These plays are works based on Professor Sun's own thoughts towards theories of Chinese classical dancing and have undergone a long journey of creative work. In the process of the creation, Professor Sun has gradually found out the true cultural foundation on which Chinese classical dancing is created.Dancing is a performing art presented by dancers to convey feelings and ideas and build images through their body cont. As dancers, we not only perform but create as well. Therefore, Plays of classical dancing of Han and Tang dynasties should not only be equipped with adequate attainment in physical expression required by dancing, but also abundant cultural accomplishment and artistic accomplishment. Only based on those elements can we succeed in building artistic images by Professor Sun Ying.On the basis of the practical experience, the dissertation provides specific analysis and description by digging into firsthand experience about the play Splendid Dancing with Drums. It is hoped that the dissertation may come to conclusions on rules in the performance of Chinese classical dancing of Han and Tang dynasties, serving as reference for development and improvement of artistic theory regarding Chinese classical dancing.
