Abstract/Summary:
Xuzhou is an important conferred state of Han Dynasty. It had Chu State in the Western Han Dynasty and Pengcheng Sate and Xiapi State in the Eastern Han Dynasty. So many tombs of feudatory kings of Han Dynasty have been founded and explored, which provided abundant material information for the research on the site selection, shape and structure and its evolvement rule, and burial objects situation. Meanwhile, the tombs of feudatory kings contained abundant historic and cultural information, which also provided a certain reference for the research on the politics, economy, ideology and culture and living conditions from funeral system. Therefore, it is necessary to protect the tombs of feudatory kings, develop and utilize them on basis of protection, and give full play to the value of tombs. Through the field investigation, there are great distinction in the protection and utilization of the tombs of feudatory kings. The Han culture scenic spot of Xuzhou relied on Lion Rock of King of Chu Tomb has become the famous place of interest, while there are only a few tourists in the north holes mountain museum built on the original site of Han Dynasty tombs of north holes mountain. Some of the tombs have not been protected well. This paper briefly introduces the excavation situation of the tombs of the feudatory kings of Han Dynasty based on the former research, concludes the features of the tombs and their historical and cultural value, analyzes the reason of the great difference of the protection and utilization for the tombs of the feudatory kings, which is mainly the product homogenization and management problems, then it further propose the suggestions of protecting and utilizing the tombs of the feudatory kings, which is to pay attention to the improvement of regional characteristic, overall control, and scientific management system.
