Research On Women's Education In The Official Class Of The Tang Dynasty

In Chinese history, women were excluded from formal education in quite a long period of time. However, their education was highly valued. In order to develop the female talent which was different from the male, society and family had always been in education for women, especially moral education. The Tang Dynasty also attached great importance to education of women. Praise of moral models, the spread of poetry, female education books of persuasion, always kept the women in the Tang Dynasty were affected by the social mainstream. However, women in the Tang Dynasty had different performance in the face of the social mainstream.This paper mainly discusses the general situation of female education in Tang Dynasty. In view of the various social strata and data limitations, this study mainly focuses on the official class. Through the analysis of the legal documents of the Tang Dynasty, unearthed epitaphs, official history records, the novels of the Tang Dynasty, the literati notes, poetry of the Tang Dynasty and other data,1 want to explore the educational situation of women in the Tang Dynasty, and summarize its characteristics.This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter deals with the provisions on women of the Tang Dynasty, mainly from three aspects to discuss social norms and requirements of women, which are the legal, moral models, the perfect image of epitaphs. The second chapter is the key part of this article comprehensively discusses the women education materials, the way of education and educational content. The main materials commonly used in women's education were women History textbooks, the Confucian classics and proverbs commandment. From the education point of view.the women were generally educated at home, and at the same time,were enlightened by the society. In terms of the content of education, women education in Tang Dynasty involves a wide range, rich in content. In addition to the basic culture, needlework, moral education, women in the Tang Dynasty was influenced by art and the Buddhism. The third chapter focuses on the practice situations of the Tang Dynasty Women Education. Through the analysis of the Women's education saints, jealous women, and virtuous women, we can see the gap between women's education and the actual behavior of the women in Tang Dynasty, and that the actual situation of the Tang Dynasty women were diverse, not all were as stereotyped as ethics norms. The fourth chapter mainly summarizes the previous discussion, generalize the characteristics of women's education in the Tang Dynasty, the main characteristics are:the combination of family education and social education, the purpose of advocating female subordination and training them as an understanding wife and loving mother, diversification of educational content, the large differences between the actual behavior and education requirements, the time-space differences of women's education.
