The Study Of The Compound Nouns Of Natural Things

Presentation of semantic elements is a kind of word formation for ancient monosyllabic words changing into compound words,it refers that during the long history for developing of ancient monosyllabic words,one of the key semantic elements will appear to be morpheme,forming compounds with the orginal monosyllabic words,and the meanings of these two words don't change in this process. Presentation of semantic elements came to being as early as the period of ancient Chinese,which is a special language phenomenon that has gone through a long process of evolution.This paper takes the compounds of semantic elements of natural things as the object of study.It describes and analizes its process of evolution,carrying our discussion and analysis of the laws of evolution as well as the causes,in order to provide a reference for study of Chinese vocabulary.The article mainly incluses three chapters:Chapter one takes Modern Chinese Dictionary (Sixth Edition) as the range of taking the words. With the help of CCL corpus of Peking University, this chapter carries out diachronic study on the forming progress of Presentation of semantic elements compound nouns of the natural things,so as to display its development and evolution progress in detail.Chapter two carries out analysis of the syntactic and semantic features of Presentation of semantic elements compound nouns of the natural things from the perspective of synchrony. In terms of grammar, it mainly reflects the characteristic relationship and positive structure relationship between " noun morpheme plus noun morpheme "and adjective morpheme plus noun morpheme"; with regard to semantics, it mainly shows the consistency of Presentation of semantic elements compound nouns of the natural things with the meaning of its source monosyllabic noun, and there's a relationship of involving and being involved between the original single-syllable noun and the morphological morpheme formed from Presentation of semantic elements in semantics, and compound nouns have the components of semantic redundancy.Chapter three mainly examines the evolution features and causes of Presentation of semantic elements compound nouns of the natural things. The evolution features show a gradient and competitiveness, and substitutability or compatibility is reflected in the evolution results; secondly, the morpheme of Presentation of semantic elements mainly has a generic relationship, gender relationship and possessive relationship with the original monosyllabic noun. The causes of evolution mainly include both internal and external factors of language:the internal factor is the development and change of the pronunciation and meaning of words; the external factor is the requirement of social interaction as well as the changes of people's way of cognition.
