Pragmatic Analysis Of Humorous Words In "Love Apartment" Under The Principle Of Cooperation And Relevance Theory

The thesis analyzes a lot of verbal humor in the current popular sitcom "love apartment" by the cooperative principle,relevance theory from the view of pragmatics on the basis of summarizing the existent humor research theory to elaborate the deep structure of verbal humor.The article adopts the method of qualitative research,selects the humorous words in "love apartment" as corpus analysis,to analyze the typical verbal humor by the cooperative principle and relevance theory pragmatics theory on the basis of summarized the classification on the collected corpora of the sitcom.At the same time,the thesis make a contrast analysis to the two types of pragmatics theory in the theoretical origin,the different theoretical model and reasoning mode,as well as the differences in interpretation of verbal humor generation mechanism.This research enriches the modern linguistics study of humor to verbal humor interpretation through the cooperative principle and relevance theory from the relatively new perspective to a certain extent.This study can help us better understand the internal mechanism of producing verbal humor to understand and appreciate verbal humor.At the same time the thesis finds that Only can the two principles be combined to analyze humor more effectively because the both theories have advantages and drawbacks.The finds provides a meaningful reference for verbal humor.
