Previous studies have shown that in the field of mathematical cognition digital size cognitive representation is closely related to the spatial encoding, the most direct performance for the SNARC effect, namely small Numbers, that is associated with the space on the left side of the big number associated with the right space. After, many studies have shown that the correlation between the two also depends on the relative size of the numerical and experimental use of task, so the digital space characterization associated with the working memory of task execution, and as human working memory for processing and storage of information memory system of limited capacity, plays an important role in the complex cognitive activity, SNARC effect is digital and represent a major form of space cognition, so the working memory load SNARC effect occurs under the mechanism of human production and life has important practical significance.Domestic research on working memory and digital SNARC effect relationship almost no, only a few foreign research mainly focused on the experiment using different main task in the process of (odd-even judgement and size comparison task), depending on the spatial and verbal working memory is addressed the separation SNARC effect, including the results of the study also involves SNARC effect may be related to working memory with sequence information, but past research seldom adopt single experiment main task (for example, only size comparison task) to explore, and carry the sequence information on working memory and the function of the SNARC effect how to research in-depth, so in this study, the experiment adopts size comparison task, and verbal working memory load, intends to explore the SNARC effect, under the influence of the working memory to the research results. At the same time, in real life, we always like to use the law to cognitive and memory for things, so we adopt experiment with sequence information of working memory, focus on exploring the sequence in working memory may impact in number SNARC effect, looking forward to provide innovative for the relationship between the two results.At present about the SNARC effect under the influence of working memory research mainly adopts dual task paradigm, namely in a task, whether the digital space representation will influenced by the secondary memory tasks at the same time, this study used the paradigm.The whole study included two experiments, this paper mainly discusses the working memory load (both for self control subjects rendering sequence of five digits) influence on digital SNARC effect, adopt 2 (key way:a left hand, right hand)* 2 (digital size classification:greater than 5 large Numbers, small number of less than 5)* 2 (sequence location:located at the beginning of the sequence 1,2, location and position 4,5) at the end of the three factors within subjects design, the main task for size comparison, secondary task for memory numerical sequence.Experiment one we studied the sequence number SNARC effect the performance of working memory load during join the go/no go task, make sure that the participants in the classification phase using the information in the working memory. Because only to belong to the memory size of sequence Numbers for judgment, forecast digital memorization in a sequence of random order would disrupt the basic sequence of Numbers, as a serial position effect (the left to begin to appear digital reaction faster, right to appear at the end of the digital rapid reaction), no SNARC effect;Experiment two is about the design a little improvement, still adopt dual task paradigm, but the main task in the time delay interval between cancel the go/no-go task, asked participants to all target Numbers are compared, and the size of the main tasks completed subjects will still be on secondary memory tasks perfectly memories and write, to join the phase is also the innovation of the experiment.According to Oberauer (2002) model of working memory SNARC effect comes from the long-term memory to enhance activation, and working memory resources are necessary to achieve this enhanced state, serial position is derived from the coding information in working memory of active extract, so join memories in experiment 2 stage, looking forward to SNARC effect and serial position effect will appear the phenomenon of coexistence.According to the result of experimental analysis and discussion, this research mainly draw the following conclusions:(1) using has nothing to do with the main task of second priority, changed SNARC effect, suggests that the SNARC is associated with task context information, suggests that the role of working memory.(2) with a sequence information does have impact on the SNARC effect, working memory and the SNARC effect from the serial position effect.(3) long-term mechanism and working memory load on all affect the SNARC effect.
