A large number of studies have shown that there is an interaction between spatial cognition and numerical cognition.Although the study of numerical spatial association has been carried out for a long time,the effect of working memory executive control on the representation of numerical and spatial is still unclear.In this study,the difference between the activation mode and the representation mode of SNARC effect and ordinal position effect in WM was compared by operating the working memory executive control in two types of tasks,and the effect of executive control on the representation mode of numerical space was revealed.Two tasks were used in both experiments,namely memory task and judgment task.All the subjects were required to memorize the sequence composed of five different Numbers,which could be divided into positive order and reverse order.In the judgment stage of experiment 1,Go-Nogo paradigm was adopted,and the subjects were required to make magnitude comparison and parity judgment only for the Numbers in the memory sequence.In experiment 2,the Go-Nogo paradigm was cancelled and all the Numbers appeared were compared magnitude and judged as odd or even.According to the results,no SNARC effect was found in the magnitude comparison and parity judgment task in experiment 1,but in the positive sequence trials,SNARC effect appeared,and ordinal position effect was found in both positive and negative sequence trials.Found in experiment 2,the magnitude is in reverse order task and parity judgment task did not find ordinal position effect,serial position effect in the positive sequence trying times,as well as all the tasks are discovered the SNARC effect,and the reverse order in the parity judgement task try time sequence SNARC effect both within and outside the sequence difference is significant.According to the results,it is concluded that numerical spatial association is flexible and affected by long-term memory and working memory executive control.The higher the level of working memory inhibitory control,the greater the SNARC effect.High level of WM executive control shows ordinal position effect,while low level of executive control shows SNARC effect of long-term memory.Different encoding modes of working memory are activated in magnitude comparison task and parity judgment task.The SNARC effect of long-term memory can be directly activated by magnitude comparison task.
