It has been ten years since Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner came into China in2006.During the ten years,as a novel that describes the social status of Afghan,The Kite Runner achieves a prominent heat and focus compared with the foreign novel of the same period especially attracts a large group of young readers.The reason why this work in China can get so much attention is that it is not only because its unique literary charm that is different from other foreign novels but also because the external reasons from the mass media and even celebrities,which makes the book The Kite Runner sell well during the past ten years.So based on the media,this paper attempts to analyze the work from the social background when it comes to China,and the internal and external causes of the process of the dissemination of works,from the diachronic research,subject research,translation studies,a perspective of cross cultural studies,to understand the spread and acceptance of The Kite Runner in Chinese,and through the analysis of these factors to better understand the interaction of the foreign literature and mass media,which can make more excellent foreign literary works come into China,and also help to better reflect how China literature spreads in the world.In recent years,the research of The Kite Runner and the author Hossein also has a lot,but the research in the specific communication situation of this work is little in China.Based on the media,this paper studies the wide spread of The Kite Runner in China.The thesis is divided into four parts:The first part analyzes the social background of The Kite Runner with the characteristics of the readers who are mostly young people,from the rare cultural atmosphere of the contemporary youth,utilitarian education caused by teenagers "spiritual hunger" and the social background of polarization,finding that The Kite Runner conforms to the current background and adolescent psychological acceptance level,no matter for the story or the theme.The second part is based on the works and the writers themselves,and analyzes the unique theme of the works and a study of literary translation and translation strategies in Postcolonial Context from the perspective of internal factors.From the research,We find that the growth theme of the work-"self lost and redemption" can easily arouse the reader's heart shock and ideological resonance,and the plot of the novel about the conflict in Afghanistan causes homeless and countless hardships ofgoing home more fit the Chinese collective unconscious context specific "feelings" and national identity.In the process of translation study,from the two aspects of text translation and cultural translation,based on comparing mainland version and Taiwan version,we find that the mainland version are more fit the reader's reading habits and aesthetic tendency,and through the study of the author's cultural identity of“Absence” and “composite”,the study analyzes the dual attributes and effect of the postcolonial literature in the process of dissemination,which unearths attraction of Chinese readers.The third part analyzes the role of the mass media in the process of communication from the external factor.From the beginning of the introduction of the works to the current popular,the works is roughly divided into three stages: the popularity caused by the film;the detonation of recommended television programs places;the late new media and other media on the continuation of popularity.Through the analysis,we find that the mass media,especially the variety show "Happy Camp”of Hunan TV and the star Gao Yuanyuan plays a crucial role of promoting and issuing in this work.This article analyzes this phenomenon from the literature communication perspectives.The fourth part is the enlightenment and reflection of The Kite Runner's heat transfer phenomenon in China,and the author summarizes how to enrich the contemporary literary and cultural environment by analyzing the background and way of disseminating,how to better carry out cross-cultural communication of literature,so through the analysis of the dissemination condition,it can enlighten the cultural status and the cross-cultural communication of foreign literature in China.This is a era of cultural integration,the development of the comparative literature and world literature is also bound to borrow media force to strengthen communication and fusion.There is still a need for us to explore,how to make a good use of the media in this process;how to grasp the degree;how to create a good atmosphere of literature for our country,especially the young people;how to enrich the current literary environment.And the ultimate aim of research is to make Chinese traditional literature and culture become more and more powerful,and has more power in the world culture stage.In this paper,I hope we can achieve the purpose of seeing big things through small ones,and have some contribution and inspiration for the study of literary communication in China.
