| Albert Einstein (1879-1955) is the most outstanding physicist and thinker of the 20th century, he is also a citizen of the world with a highly social sense of responsibility. As a world-famous scientist with a deep religious views, Einstein is beyond the time when atheism and theism are against each other. He leaves a remarkable mark in the religion history. His religious views will inevitably become a hot topic in academia.This thesis consists of four parts.The first chapter introduces Einstein’s life in time order, combining with historical development background. As a teenager, he has his religious conscious and he believes Judaism for a short time. When he goes to middle school he finds his passion of science, so he throws away his Judaism religion. With time goes by, the world changes a lot, Einstein no longer resists religion, and his religious conscious is the source of his scientific achievements. He comes up with religious views in his late years.The second chapter is about Einstein’s religious views. He put forward the three stages of religion, fear religion, moral religion and universal religion. It requires the removal of personified god, maximum play a role of religious ethics, and is the spiritual pillar of scientists pursue truth. However, Einstein’s religious is idealist conception of history. He against theology, requires enlarge moral enlightenment amplification, and eventually be converted into his universal religion;The third chapter of Einstein’s God and his faith, his God is Spinoza’s God, as nature. This chapter analyzes if Einstein is an atheist, this paper briefly introduces the Kant, Mach and Hume’s influence on Einstein’s ideas of his God;The fourth chapter introduces Einstein’s views of the relationship between science and religion. The difference between them, contact, conflict, and the future development. This chapter will introduce them in detail. |
