The Effect Of Metal Material Conversion On Figurative Sculpture

The development history of Western sculpture art is a “negation,re-negation”revolution process to rebel the ancient principles.Many outstanding sculpture actors emerged during this period such as Rodin,Manzu,Giacometti,and Brancusi.A variety of diverse doctrines staged one after another in the western modern sculpture.Recently in Chinese contemporary sculpture,many positive explorations and practices have been made in the application of the metal materials.The development of modern industry has also provided many innovation materials to the sculpture art to expand the expressional language and technological means.Metal material has a unique art performance allowing us to explore the spirituality and modernity of the contemporary art from the physical property.At the same time,the application of the material,the symbolic significance and emotion expression of the traditional materials replacement and recombination have been explored.Innovation makes visual effect more shocked and meaningful.Though traditional realismis an important part of the sculpture art,it is no more absolute mainstream.Therefore,among traditional realism,abstract art,and concept devices art,there is a wide space for innovation development.Based on the identifiable concretization sculpture,the exploration and application of the material,and the mixture of the different materials,adding into the contemporary concept,a new rational sculpture art is appeared with a temporized pattern.This thesis analyses the influence affected by the figurative sculpture in the sculpture art,combining my graduation work,also by exploring the metal material properties,the application of the different materials transformation and relevant technology.
