Wang Yangming's Theory Of Qi

Wang Yang-ming is the most influential philosopher and the representative figure of Mind Studies in the Ming dynasty.His main thesis,for example,“Mind Is Principle”,“Nothing Exists beyond The Mind" and "The Unity of Theory and Practice " have got the extensive research.His research about "Qi",however,are rarely mentioned.In fact,"Qi" in his ideology has rich connotation and important theoretical position.This fact not only embodies in wang yang-ming's own practice,but also in the process of his thought system of the construction.In Wang yang-ming's monism philosophy,"Qi"presents its unique theoretical significance through contacting with category,such as "Li”,"Xing","Conscience" and "Everything as One".Firstly,Wang yang-ming advocated the unity of "Li" and "Qi",and coordinate the relationship between them by these proposition that "Li" is the order of "Qi" and the use of"Qi" is "Li".Secondly,He propose the connection of "Xing" and "Qi" and then put forward the theory of "Xing" is "Qi",which had a profound effect of the theory of human nature in Ming and qing dynasties.Meanwhile,He explores the "Temperament(qi zhi)"original meaning,and excluding the connotation about the value of good and evil,and restored its original sense with difference and diversity.Thirdly,the study of "Qi" in Wang yang-ming could be an important perspective to explore the relation between Taoism and his thought.For example,he often mention the proposition of "Conscience evolve into Qi",which originally a term of Taoist theory for inner elixir,has its unique connotation.Further,"Qi"play an indispensable role in evidence into the Theory of "Everything as One".Making this theory have a more solid foundation of objectivity,on the one hand,helping to understand the difference principle in the application of this thesis,on the other hand.Through the study of Wang yang-ming's theory of "Qi",it is conducive to clarify some misunderstandings of Wang yang-ming's thought previous,to show the aspect of objectivity in his conscience theory intrinsically and to the further development of the study of "Qi" in Chinese philosophy.
