A Brief Discussion On The Contradiction Of The Theme Of Akutagawa Ryunosuke's Works

In the 20 th century,Japan's postwar literature has yielded noteworthy achievements.Japanese literature,which has been trapped in isolated islands for a long time,was gradually merging with world literature.Akutagawa Ryunosuke,who is known as “Kafka of Japan”,is a memorable forerunner in this merging process.In this paper,combining with specific works,the writer's life experience,social and historical background,the most concerned four pairs of contradictions in Akutagawa's literary works was taken as the main framework,the choices and implied tendencies of Akutagawa in accordance with the principle of “benefiting mankind,redeeming people ” in the face of various contradictions were analyzed,trying to interpret the greater value and more worldwide shareable experience in Akutagawa's literature.The relationship of antinomy and identity between classical and modern elements was the priority concern of the thesis.As a talent of generation,Akutagawa Ryunosuke combined the literary techniques of Eastern classical culture and Western modern culture.A unique and innovative way of literature in a relatively closed Japanese culture was carved by him,thus drawing criticism for himself.The positioning of the Akrakawa literature was given secondary concern.Whether it is the utopian pure literature or the struggle literature against the reality has been an everlasting controversy.Until the relaxed and inclusive perspective of contemporary academy,looking back upon the turbulent era,the Critical spirit hidden in Akagawa literature was gradually discovered by people.In addition,many works in Akrakawa's literature are deeply or shallowly related to religious spirit and various doctrines.Whether this kind of attention is deep into the ontological level has also been a long-standing problem in academic circles,and can be roughly judged through concrete works.In the end,Akrakawa literature has long been covering the criticism for "unethical" in Japan.However,along with the growing communication of the world literature,perhaps we can understand from the "immorality" the anxiety of Akutagawa Ryunosuke for the real world to improve.Akutagawa literature,which has been labeled by Japanese academic for such a long time,would embark on the road to vindication through the broad interpretation of his position and perspectives.
