Sylvia Plath,as the main representative poet of the confessional poetry, her creation of poetry is unique. In her poems, the father, the death, and the pursuit of the real self are everywhere.Based on the direct confession, she blended the color and surreal and expressed it with metaphor, which made poetry more layered, more saturated, and more plentiful.Plath’s poems makes the Confessional Poetry more powerful. To be precise, she would push the confessional poetry to the most prosperous state. In the history of European and American literature, especially in the poetry creation genre,Plath’s position should not be overlooked and the role of her poetry also cannot be estimated.
