Michel De Montaigne, which was also a famous thinker and moralist, was the representative figures of the late French Renaissance.Montaigne have only two great works, one is Essais, another is Montaigne's Trip to Italy. In Essais,Montaigne has discussed 107 themes. After,I have carefully read all themes in this books,I found that the books involved amounts of historical figures, for example,Plato,Socrates,Virgil,Horace,Livy,Tacitus,Cicero, etc. These historical figures of classical era did become a significant characteristic in Montaigne's Essais. In this books,I could also find a clear thought, that is,Montaigne's Essais. It was for this method that the assessment paradigm of historical figures is unique. He put all historical figures that his Essais talked about in the same space in order to investigate and criticize, which has formed the core of the assessment paradigm of historical figures, that is the dual theory of classical and the--worldly.That theory is not only the elements of Montaigne's own theoretical system, but also the deep impression on ancient in connection with France during the renaissance. This article mainly discussed the thought of the assessment paradigm of historical figures. The wholly text was divided into four chapters, the first chapter mianly talked poets, philosophers and historians in the Essais; The second part of text totally discussed the classical conception of heroes and the background of the present;the third chapter majored in the method of Montaigne's assessment paradigm of historical figures; The last one talked over the thinking and enlightenment Montaigne brought to us.The epilogue summarized the relationship between Montaigne's theory and his Essais.
