Linguistic landscape is the landscape with language markings in the public space,you can see it as a language sign.Yangzhou tourist attractions open to domestic and foreign tourists,the linguistic landscape is multilingual,which has some research value.This paper investigates the language use of linguistic landscape in Yangzhou tourist attractions from the perspective of linguistic landscape,and conducts questionnaire survey on tourists and tourism operators,and analyzes their attitudes and evaluations of linguistic landscape in combination with interview and observation.The survey results show that,from the perspective of different scenic spots,the linguistic landscape of Yangzhou tourist area has diversity as a whole,among which Chinese has the highest status in the linguistic landscape of the scenic area,followed by English,Japanese and Korean.From the perspective of different establishments,the official and private signs are diversified.The official signs are mainly in Chinese as the dominant language.The translation types of language signs are dominated by duplicating.The dominant language of the private signs is more diversified.The translation types of signs are dominated by fragmentary,overlapping and complementary.From the perspective of different function types,the landscape appreciation signs' language is the most single,the cultural propaganda signs,the description introduction signs' language is more single,the service facility name signs,the warning prohibition and prompt signs' language are more diversified,the business signs'language is the most diversified,which is the businessmen's economic means to enhance the commercial interests.Tourists survey results show that,tourists have the highest attention to the monolingual landscape in the scenic area,followed by bilingual signs and multilingual signs.On the type of linguistic landscape to set up,the tourists most concerned about or most hope to set up in the scenic area are guide signs,the least concerned about are the cultural propaganda signs and commercial signs.In terms of the function of linguistic landscape,whether it is calligraphic landscape,bilingual landscape or multilingual landscape,tourists affirm their informational function more,while making a high rating on the traditional culture symbolized by calligraphic landscape and its aesthetic value,as well as English and other foreign languages' social status.The survey results of the tourism operators show that the establishment of private signs is mainly affected by the consumer groups and operators themselves.In the process of consumption,visitors are most influenced by calligraphic landscape,followed by bilingual landscape and multilingual landscape,which is basically consistent with the operators'judgment.Most of the operators affirmed the traditional cultural status of calligraphic landscape,but also affirmed the informational function of bilingual landscape and multilingual landscape.In addition,the linguistic landscape of Yangzhou scenic area still has the problems of amount of information inequality and informational function blurring in informational function,and needs further improvement.The symbolic function of language landscape is related to economic interests and cultural identity.Government and individual in the establishment of language landscape will consider the economic factors.Different groups'cultural identity will strengthen the symbolic function of linguistic landscape.
