A Survey Of The Language Landscape In The West Tower Area Of ??Shenyang

Based on the linguistic landscape in Xita area of Shenyang City,this dissertation investigates the linguistic landscape in Xita area of Shenyang with various knowledge of sociolinguistics,and a lot of methods,like documentary method,aussage method and corpus analysis.The first chapter introduces the research background of language landscape in Xita area of Shenyang.First of all,a brief introduction of the history of Xita district in Shenyang City.Shenyang Xita area is the largest ethnic gathering area except the Korean Autonomous Prefecture and the counties in Northeast China.It has rich Korean nationality and Korean customs and is the economic and cultural center of the Korean people in Shenyang.Secondly,define the concept of language landscape.By analysing the definition of language landscape in the existing research,the author defines the language landscape as the common viewpoints of all kinds of visibility languages in public areas,And divides the language landscape into two categories: government behavior and personal behavior.The second chapter describes and analyzes the current situation of the language landscape in the Xita area of Shenyang based on the collected corpus.There are three types of symbols appearing in the language landscape of government behavior: Chinese characters,Korean characters and English.There are three kinds of symbol patterns: single symbol pattern,two symbol combination patterns and three symbol combination patterns.There are seven types of symbols that appear in the language landscape of personal behavior: Chinese characters,Korean characters,English,Chinese Phonetic Alphabet,numbers,Japanese,Roman letters;there are four kinds of symbol patterns: single symbol pattern,two symbol combination pattern,Symbol combination pattern,four kinds of symbol combination pattern.The third chapter summarizes the characteristics of the language landscape in the Xita area of Shenyang.The landscape of Xita in Shenyang City has the characteristics of rich symbol types,flexible combination of symbols,multiple arrangement,illustrated,rich national features and very international.The fourth chapter analyzes the existing problems of the language landscape in Xita area of Shenyang and puts forward some suggestions for improving these problems.The order of language landscape in Xita area of Shenyang is lack of standardization,the spelling of Chinese Phonetic Alphabet is inaccurate,traditional Chinese characters are used,and only use foreign languages.For these problems,the author suggests that the language landscape in the Xita area of Shenyang should be in the form of "Chinese + Korean characters " and suggested that relevant government departments should strengthen supervision and the groups and individuals should enhance their awareness of establishing a good public language image and create the language landscape that can beautify the public image of the Xita area in Shenyang more beautiful and to promote the development.
