"Song Shi Yi Yi Zhi" Research

Song Shi Yi Wei Zhi is a special section of Song Shi summarizing the system of guard of honor in the Song Dynasty(960-1279),which has important value in knowing the basic condition of the system of guard of honor and its development and evolution.I mainly carry on a comparatively systematic research on Song Shi Yi Wei Zhi from three aspects in the dissertation:The first part is textual research on Song Shi Yi Wei Zhi which primarily involves its historical source,historical background,the correctness and errors of text,the way of cutting historical materials etc.And I do it sentence by sentence.In addition,I have corrected some errors of some related historical records and probed their inherited relations.Through textual criticism,I have found that as its preface says,its historical source is mainly from Guoshi,Huiyao and ritual books in the Song Dynasty.The second part aims to explore the way of its compilation.I study it in three fields: firstly,the method of editing the text;secondly,the mode of organizing the content.The former principally includes copying the original records,cutting out the superfluous to simplify,integrating and generalizing dispersive records and rewriting and polishing some lengthy narrative,and the first two are widely-used among them.The latter incorporates setting the title based on the previous historical materials,rearranging narrative order,combining the original records etc.Thirdly,I take the record of Lubu in Song Shi Yi Wei Zhi as an example and discuss success and failure of its compilation,which is analyzed from the perspective of enacting rituals and performing them.The third part deals prevailingly with the value and flaw of Song Shi Yi Wei Zhi.To begin with,I discuss the historical value of it in terms of systematic historical records,saving rare historical materials,and the historical source of subsequent writings.And then I analyze the main flaw of it from the aspect of the editorial errors,deficiency of historical records about the system of guard of honor in the South Song Dynasty(1127-1279)and lack of the historiographers' reviews.
