A Comparative Study Of Commonly Used Words In The Oirat Dialect

This thesis compared 3000 common words from the "Chinese Language Resource Protection Project · Oirat Mongolian dialect" with 3000 common words from the "Chinese Language Resource Protection Project · Chahar Mongolian dialect",and studied the exactly corresponding words on form,the partial corresponding words on form,and the Non-corresponding words on form of the two dialect.This thesis consists of six parts:the introduction,the first chapter,the second chapter,the conclusion,the bibliography and the appendix.The introduction part briefly described the reasons of subject choosing,the research profiles,the research methods,data sources and the phonetic symbols used in the paper.The first chapter mainly studied the exactly corresponding words on form from common words in the Oirat Mongolian and the Chahar Mongolian dialect.The first section counted the exactly corresponding words on form from the Generic and Extended words and calculated the proportions.The second section counted the partial corresponding words on form in terms of Vowel form and Consonant form,and calculated the proportions.The second chapter mainly studied the partial corresponding words on form from common words in the Oirat Mongolian and the Chahar Mongolian dialect.The first section counted and analyzed the Non-corresponding words on form from the Generic words,which were divided into 14 categories including astronomical geography,time orientation,plants,animals,buildings and equipment,clothing and diet,physical health,weddings and belief,character and title,industry agriculture commerce and culture,action behavior,nature state,quantity and pronoun adverb preposition conjunction.The second section counted and analyzed the Non-corresponding words on form from the Extended words,which were also divided into 14 categories including astronomical geography,time orientation,plants,animals,buildings and equipment,clothing and diet,physical health,weddings and belief,character and title,industry agriculture commerce and culture,action behavior,nature state,quantity and pronoun adverb preposition conjunction.Besides the author listed some special words in the Oirat Mongolian dialect,which were not investigated by Chinese Language Resource Protection Project.The conclusion part came to three conclusions:First,the words describing nature state and pronoun adverb preposition conjunction had more in common on form than other categories.Second,the corresponding laws on form of short vowel,long vowel and consonant in the two dialect were found.Third,the words describing astronomical geography,plants,buildings and equipment,clothing and diet had more difference on form than other categories.
