A Preliminary Study On The Pottery Of The Guanzhong Northern Dynasty

On the basis of collecting the data from 34 tombs with burial figurines in the Guanzhong area dating back to the Northern Dynasties,this paper uses archaeological typology to classify and analyze the pottery figurines of Guanzhong in the Northern Dynasties,and combine with the relevant research results.The origin of the pottery figurines of Guanzhong in the Northern Dynasties is discussed.According to the different dates of the tombs,the pottery figurines in Guanzhong of the Northern Dynasties were divided and organized into four periods: the late period of the Sixteen States to the early period of the Northern Wei Dynasty,the middle and late period of the Northern Wei Dynasty,the period of the Western Wei Dynasty,and the period of the Northern Zhou Dynasty.Secondly,on the basis of periods,the typewriting analysis was performed on the pottery figurines in Guanzhong North China and the characteristics of the period were summarized.The pottery figurines group of the late Tang dynasty to the early Northern Wei Dynasty mainly followed the regulations of the Taoist horses of the Sixteen States,and influenced by the external factors,with strong Xianbei style.The pottery figurines of the late period of the Northern Wei Dynasty showed the trend of Chinesization,but still maintained the characteristics of Xianbei people.The pottery figurines in the Western Wei Dynasty differentiated themselves from the ones in the Northern Wei Dynasty,in the symbolic smaller volume of figurines with chubbier figures,while maintaining the fixed combination and style of the Northern Wei Dynasty.The figurines of the Northern Wei Dynasty continued the regulation of the Northern Wei Dynasty and the Western Wei Dynasty.However,the number of armed cavalry figurines and ceremonial warrior figurines increased,manifesting strong military atmosphere.Finally,based on the comprehensive analysis of the composition,type and characteristics of the pottery figurines in the Northern Dynasties,the influence of the pottery figurines in the Northern Dynasties on the inheritance of the pottery figurines in the Wei Dynasty,the Jin Dynasty and the Sixteen States were discussed,and the artistic characteristics were analyzed.
